Both those matches were changed by a refereeing decision and reducing a side to 10 men, anything can happen after that.
A tanner. (note the spelling). The last and only time I gambled was in in 1971 when I put a shilling each way on a horse in the Grand national. My brother-in-law took me into the Bookies and filled in the betting slip for me. It didn't win and I said that it was all a waste of money and have not bet on anything since.
Yep, agree with that. Watford won't get any more points, and I can see Bournemouth winning one of their final games (hopefully not against us). I predict a draw against us, and they will beat Everton final day.
Villa are so bad up front I’m not sure they’ll win either of their last two. Watford look in trouble but have points on the board and could possibly get a point against Arsenal who will be full strength today against City. Bournemouth in the best position I think but would love it if we beat them.
They are a big club RAWMOK. I’m glad they’re back and so is my brother in law.... who I’ve always called by his proper name: Dirty Leeds
I don't begrudge any supporter who has been through the lows of a poorly run club the chance to experience the highs and celebrate good times. As a supporter the emotional part is what makes football. I will be far more chuffed if Brentford were promoted to the PL. Leeds were a big club and can prove themselves again. Looking forward to playing them and going 3-0 up.
Not sure the big 6 is such a thing any more. Only four of those teams will actually finish in the top six this season, and even the likes of West Ham and Everton seem able to rival the spending power of Spurs/Arsenal. There’s a big 2 right now, and that’s it. A return to a big 6 would actually be good for the league. This season was the worst title race in living memory. But yeah, I agree it’s good having Leeds back.
Of course there's a big 6. There used to be a big 4 till a couple of others broke into it and the media weren't going to denote any of the previous 4.
I am surprised that Nigel Pearson has not turned Watford around. It seemed a very good appointment and a perfect fit. They have two tough games ahead but I still see Villa and Bournemouth getting relegated. Pearson will re-build Watford and turn their fortunes around if they stay up. Ralph experimented on Thursday and he knows who he can rely on. Put out a strong team out in the first half on Sunday and we can then bring the youngsters and fringe players on for the second period when we are four goals up.
Shame for Leeds fans that they couldn’t join in the celebrations properly. Still they won’t care when next season starts .
I'm happy to see Leeds back. Whatever their sins as a club, twenty years of penance was more than sufficient, and I'm delighted to see Bielsa in the Premier League. As for Leeds being a big club, well...big clubs are clubs with money, and the traditional determinants there don't mean that much anymore. The Big X has grown, and may expand further if Leicester continues to perform this this, and if they grow much further (or if Newcastle gets massive funding, etc) then the concept starts to break down a tad.
That time, I'm not sure if VAR would have given a red, had it not been given a red on the field. But because a red was given, I definitely don't think you can call it a clear and obvious error (unlike the first).
I’d say they were down to 8. Klose seems to be a passenger every time I see Norwich. He seems to end up on his ass every time the opponents put a ball in the box. Must be made of heavy bones and flesh. 2-0
I really don’t like the way players scream and go down clutching parts of their anatomy in order to get a player a card. Buendia was stupid but he hardly touched the Burnley player who went down like he had been shot. I know Tom will say that any use of the elbow against the head is a red, but it really wasn’t that bad in my book. A yellow and a good taking to was all it needed. The 2nd looked worse in real time but slow it down and there was no intent. However Bertrand got sent off for something similar so I can’t argue with it. Burnley are awful at breaking them down though. Bardsley (never my favourite player) is totally useless - I have no idea how he remains a premier league player.
Have no problem with the first red card. It was a deliberate action...doesn’t matter if player was hurt or not...he could have been. Dangerous to hit someone in the neck.
