I’m reading that they all seem to have connections to Qatar. Also bloosmerg who reported Henry mauriss involvement is apparently owned by a Qatar based company. I do have my doubts now though. It just feels like there’s something not right with the whole thing?
Its become occams razor. Eventually you will stop with all the assumptions and guesswork and will reach the simplest and most obvious conclusion.
It’s great this is it. Honestly pick a page number earlier than say 300, any page and read that page and realise that we are more or less saying the same things as we are today. I’m picking page 279!
Less and less stories are appearing about this takeover and as I've repeatedly said, it seems impossible that from PIF, to PCP, to Mike Ashley and every solicitors, law firm, etc., in between, that there's no news at all bar some CH doc with a charge from April and Masters saying "shortly" over 2 weeks ago. The amount of bits and pieces around the Southampton takeover was more in line with something real. Bits about this, and that, investigations, revelations, eventually went through. This one? Nothing at all.
It was May 9th on page 279 and we you lot where discussing rafas signings. The odd person saying if it drags on much longer it’s off. A mention of Aquillani and that’s about it.
The transfer window opens July 27th, that's 10 days from now. That follows the end of season. If there's nothing on that specific day, I promise to never post in this thread again as, for me, that is the deadline. The only possible marker in line with Sheikh's comments is "end of matches" and an announced signing alongside a new manager. Any silence on the 27th/28th will seal the deal as dead for me.
Your not wrong like it’s really odd how there is hardly anything out there other than speculation. The more I think about, SA blocking bein are we not just back to where we where prior to the piracy issue being resolved?
Cognitive dissonance is adopting conflicting positons/ attitudes. Reality is that due to lack of stories confirming rejection of the bid it can only be one of two thing:- Ongoing and still with the PL (the most likely) Complete and the announcement has been intentionally delayed. The first is the most reasonable. The second is offering a second scenario.
We were warned that would a period of time when all speculation would just stop and everything would go quiet. If we the start the new season with Ashley at the healm, i think we can start questioning.
Alternatively it's been rejected and the PL are leaving it to others to break that news. That's a very real and distinct third possibility. For your 2 scenarios, the 27th/28th July is the deadline. The PL cannot possibly allow it to drag INTO the transfer window and disrupt plans even more. And if the announcement is being delayed, waiting for season end and a possible signing would make the most sense.
Cognitive dissonance is about taking information and effectively spinning it to suit a narrative, i.e. the silence means it must be happening, or Saudi have banned PL games so that must be a good thing for the takeover.
What about the option of “been rejected so SA ban bein” One thing looking at it from a different angle is that there must have been genuine concrete interest from PIF or they would just have announced that they do not intend to buy NUFC!
See I’m a glass is half empty kind of guy so I see it as a negative. I’ve been brought up to assume the worst and prepare for it aswell. Im used to things going wrong.
There are, to be fair, hundreds of ways to spin it. Here's another - why would you push through a deal for a club when you can't make a difference? Window is shut, Bruce is in charge, team won't suddenly improve, and also there's no income from matchday and such to worry about.
Possible of course, but I suspect we would hear gloating from the main objectors. If they are waiting for the end of the season then it may be so they can start with a clean slate. Transfer window, opportunity to get rid of Bruce, prepate for new season. Either way it is getting tiresome. Everyone could rest easy if just two words ' It's done.'
Exactly. PIF would reject any links. They aren't exactly shy. If it had been rejected, the likes of Richard Keys, Hatice Cengiz and the money loving MP's would be gloating and praising morality.
