Does anybody watch AFTV the Arsenal fan channel? One of it's pundits has been thrown off for making a racial slur that I've never heard of. I only know one meaning for dvd. Is it a racial slur used only in London?

I’d never heard of it before either. It appears to be a London thing, referencing selling snide DVD’s, apparently there was a ‘he’s selling 3 for a fiver’ chant at some point.
Ah thanks for the explanation. I don't want to say it's pretty tame as slurs go because I'm not in a position to say whether or not it's offensive. The only thing I can say is that if you're part of a regular presentation team you need to be squeaky clean, racially speaking, in terms of your word choice. I suppose part of the problem is that some don't know they are being casually racist.
I watched a documentary about racism in football a while ago, it was centred around black football fans and their experiences, and it heavily featured Robbie from AFTV. Who’s been (and continues to be) racially abused on a pretty horrendous scale. He spoke at length about it and showed some of the social media stuff he was subjected to. He was obviously severely hurt by it. So his actions here are understandable imo.
What actions? From what I gather he came out and stated it wasn’t racist, it was a chant about spurs selling a dvd of last season where they won nothing... before now coming out and apologising for that.
He sacked him off after fans didn’t believe the original explanation that was patently provided by Claude to Robbie, but the fella reacted when the racist angle was pointed out, and he then chose to apologise for his own words on the subject to boot.
I'm not sure if I'm reading what you say here in the right way but it's not the black lad who's been suspended. From my understanding Claude said 'that's DVD off' as Son was substituted.
imo If the DVD jibe is a racist offence about 70% of all football chants probably breach equality laws .

Hate speech and incitement aside, if you want to live in a society that values free speech then somebody, somewhere will be offended at some point.
