There is a difference between struggling to get by through lack of investment and talent that was never there and spaffing 2 seasons parachute payments and the goodwill of fans thus reducing a club once worth potentially £100m to one worth **** all with no prospects at all.

Yes it has been worse in some respects, but not in others.

The fact we still have an intransigent, rigid and unimaginative clown still in charge on a match - day when he should have been canned in early March says it all.

I'm starting to wonder whether the grand plan is to 'manage' us down to league 2 than put us into admin, writing off the debt that way, just to spite the fans.

After last night there must be some ulterior motive in keeping him.

Bolton still had players on big contracts I assume
We don’t or won’t have after this season
They aren’t that stupid they would go down on purpose. it’s his toy he wants to be good at this remember. There is no way they want relegation.

There are no circumstances, in which halving your income can be considered a financial benefit.

You're another one who's hatred clouds your vision. Petty vindictive childish ****s they may well be, but stupid they are not.

I don't think they see it in footballing terms. To them, they want a club that doesn't cost them a fortune to run. If they run a League One club, they get that. Minimal investment, reliance on youth, sell young players for profit which generates the bulk of the income.

Which division we are in to them I don't feel is relevant.

Bolton did have some silly contracts, players like Sammy Ameobi, Josh Vela and Luke Murphy won't have been on small wages.

Owning a league one club doesn’t look good down at the polo club

If he was trying to avoid relegation at all costs then we'd have had a new manager after Charlton.

As much as we can’t sell it, a championship club must be easier to sell than a l1 club.
They’d almost certainly take a bigger hit to sell a l1 club wouldnt they

Have you considered the possibility that arrogance and obstinance might be clouding their judgment?

Possibly, or would it be be better to get a new manager in the summer once we know what league we are in.
Ehab will see it differently to everyone of us no doubt

If he was hellbent on getting us relegated then why did he try to get the league suspended?

Unless it was like some elaborate double bluff.

    That's Ehab. Always thinking.

A sound bite to show the world he was trying. The chance of the league being suspended was close to zero.

I'm not sure. Nothing really makes sense. I guess the only one who really knows is Ehab.

I'm sure he'd rather stay up for another season, but whether he cares about the club or not im doubting.

Unfortunately all the good they did has been undone. They gave us so much hope, top flight football,f.a cup runs, good managers, good players.....Then pulled the rug from under our feet, that's the saddest part of it all!

Financial implications for the EFL as a whole would have been too great for it to be a realistic proposition, and legally frought with broadcasters and sponsors to boot. . I assume he saw it as a potential get out of jail free card.

In many respects it has been worse, but I've never known us p**s potential up the wall quite like this, and I've been going since the late 80s.

If they sell the club on as a going concern in the championship then they can reasonably claim they saved the club and had success. If they incur losses in league 1, lower or in admin then they can't and take a financial hit, then you'd think they cant. I just don't see any logic in their approach. Which is why I'm questioning.....

..... Except the logic of a gambler who's in to deep to quit, and is willing to risk losing more than accept defeat or admit fault.

My point exactly. He would have known it was impossible, so his ploy was to try to let the supporters think he was serious about keeping the club up. On the other hand what are his/their other motives/strategies ?

I still don't see how he gets his money back in league 1. That's what doesn't add up, but then there's a lot that doesn't.
