Well that's bollox as as almost every home game this season he's been sat in the box directly behind my seat, but of course as per usual. You know best

Apologies, I'd forgot about that and also that I suggested the idea to Geoff Bielby many moons ago and was invited to the unveiling of them at the time.

I haven't seen Ash this season and have no idea if he's been a guest in someone's box, but I absolutely guarantee you that Hull City have never given him a box, you snarky tart.

He's not a guest in it, the vast majority of games it's only him in it with a youngish lad, you Guarantee he's not and never been given one? A min ago you was telling me he doesn't have a box and always pays for tickets but now that's wrong and in your own words a season out of date possibly, so how do you know he's not been given one this season??

Snarky tart... Seriously, you the worst on here for snarky comments when somebody posts the wrong info or something you don't like

Similar disagreements certainly happened back then, but they were far more in your face.

It would've been more common though because people could hide behind a screen like we do right now.

Some hid behind telephones from memory, others waited until there was a crowd, but I think another element was that the crowd was a very different mix to many of the people that follow City now, so those following the crowd by twittering on here, would most likely have followed a different crowd back then. . The social engineering applied to football to dilute it was effective.

And have 24/7 access to a ready made argument that you could open up like picking a scab any time you want to. It’s a mixed blessing this internet business.

I must admit he's probably been one of our best players. And the fact that he isn't anywhere near smashing it is worrying.

Exactly, in the 60s and 70s when I started supporting City people gave their opinions face to face and seemed to accept everybody had different opinions and got on with life.

    Amen brother.

Deeply unfashionable to follow City from about 76 to 83, and gates were low so you tended to know fans of your age group by sight/name.

But you know what was best of all, and this is gonna sound kinda crazy I know but.....there were no armchair managers.or tactic geeks stinking out the place.

Strictly laughs, social, with the occasional unexpected win thrown in

Halcyon days and travel- sometimes both.

Interesting because I missed most of that time. I started supporting City in January 1964 and continued until I moved to London in September 1973. I'd been to all the home matches and about half the away matches. I rarely saw them play from then until 1984 (one of the few exceptions was the FA Cup match at Tottenham). I then started being very active watching most of the away matches and some of the home matches between 1984 and 1989. I even had a season ticket for one season. In 1989 I realised that I was spending too much of my life doing football related things. I next went to a City match when they played Crystal Palace in 2007 and I got interested again when the season culminated in getting promotion at Wembley. I then went to all the first 11 matches of the 2008-2009 season before it all got a bit too much for me and now I only go to the matches in the south east of England. I know I have rarely been to as many matches as some fans who travel to just about every City match despite living in the south of England. When I was younger I would be excited as soon as I left the house to go to a City match but now I only get excited when the match starts. I've finally got to seeing the occasional City match rather than it having to be all or nothing.
