Good Morning. It's Wednesday 15th July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Phillips Injury heartbreak Kalvin Phillips has said he is 'heartbroken' after it was revealed that the knee injury he sustained during the win at Swansea City last weekend will probably rule the midfielder out of the last three games of the season. "Heartbroken I will be missing the last three games of the season," "Anyone that knows me knows it’s killed me that this unfortunate injury has happened. I am beyond gutted I can’t help the lads at such an important time on the pitch but I will make sure I’m there for everyone off the pitch! "Still three massive games to go and we will need everyone to get to our goal. "And for the majority of Leeds fans I can assure you I will be a nervous wreck watching just like the rest of you guys. "One last push for everyone. TOGETHER." please log in to view this image Struber - We will need luck, bravery and big hearts Tykes Manager Gerhard Struber has said his side will need luck, bravery and big hearts if they are produce anything from their trip to Elland Road tomorrow! "The players work very hard, but in the end, we also need a little luck in some situations, "We work very hard for the luck and hope it comes back on Thursday and we can make a big surprise at Leeds. "In some situations, we need a killer mood especially in front of goal. We expected goals in our last (two games) and we should have won these games and we were clearly the better team. "It is more a question of the right balance. We are in tenth place of the Championship after the lockdown (in form). "We need to be brave boys with a big heart and a good balance between heart and brain. We need everyone on their personal limit on Thursday and then we have a good chance for a big performance and then maybe for a big result. "This is our goal in this special game against Leeds. "It is clear that Leeds are the big favourite, but we also have a big quality and it is difficult to play against Barnsley with my style and also with the (right) attitude from my boys. "We had very good games against Fulham and West Bromwich. It is a crazy what happens in every game. "We believe in us and believe we can win in a very good performance on Thursday. This is our responsibility and duty to all what we can." This is a big coach with big experience and also with a big plan, position and style. please log in to view this image What is your favourite Leeds Utd kit? Morning all... We’ve got (what on paper) were the hardest games out the way, being without Phillips isn’t ideal, I’d have definitely liked him in the middle for the Derby game but I’m still confident Brentford will slip up tonight meaning we can secure promotion on Thursday. We know Bielsa will move White forward into that roll and bring in Berardi, again I don’t see it being a problem against Barnsley, Derby might be more of a test.
Morning, I'm more worried by this game than Swansea. Barnsley have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We simply must score early settle the nerves and "Stoke" them. Admiral, Topman and Strongbow Shirts for me. The worst ones are the away kits.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a dull cold Bardsey Great result for us last night and the omens now look good.We should see off Barnsley without Phillips but I prefer bringing in someone into midfield rather than take out White Rik you said the next best manager is the Preston boss I would think that should go to the Brentford Manager Wilf you said that Ben Gibson is no better than what we have got .Well its not long ago that Gibson was mooted to play for England he just hasn;t settled in Burnley
Morning all. While losing one of our best players isn't ideal if we can't get the job done from here without him then we are not good enough to go up. I loved any of the kits with Strongbow as the sponsor and the blue and green yeboah away shirt.
Sorry Rich as really wish I could share your optimism for tonight. Brentford (h) PPG 2.10 v Preston (a) PPG 1.19 On paper at least it's a comfortable home win and we're back to a 3 points gap. Hopefully your hunch is correct though
Regarding kits, I'm not a fan of sponsors logo's so the best for me is simple... 1972 FA Cup Final shirt or similar
Imagine being WBA though for them it could be the same number of games played and just one point ahead with a far inferior goal difference. Looking over your shoulder doesn't help going forward. We need to focus on our games and the rest can go forth and multiply.
I agree. The one thing in WBA's favour is they now know what's required...2 games left and 2 wins or it will be the play offs. Personally I think they will achieve those 2 wins and then that leaves only one more place for automatic promotion. As you say we need to take care our own business...no one gives you anything in this division and Barnsley, Derby & Charlton will all be tough nuts to crack.
Which 3 are going down folks. Remember about Wigans 12 points. They are currently on 45 points with a plus 1 points difference
So Kalvin has joined the nervous wreck gang, I feel for the lad God certainly doesn't smile on Leeds United, for some reason he seems to have taken away our stars over the last three months please log in to view this image
The one thing that really concerns me is that without Casila's ban, we would never have found out how good Meslier actually is, as there is no way Bielsa would, could or have any intention of changing his team, unless injury or suspension. I hope we havn't missed out on any other top talent.
Morning chaps, the old rusty sheriff's badge is starting to twitch as tonight's games loom. Please, please can Brentford drop some points just to ease my pain. In relation to meslier can someone who has watched the last few games give an assessment of how he has played? In terms of clean sheets he has done well but is he a good no 1 for us?
Morning all. Gutted for Kalvin but don't worry, well win last three games even without him. that's not a reflection on him but rather the way the rest of the squad is now so well drilled to handle losing a team mate. Ive been super confident for the last week and haven't seen anything to change that. As for Meslier, I think he's the best keeper we've had in a very long time. Big lad able to handle himself in a crowded penalty area, great catcher and distribution is spot on. Suppose the acid test will be in the pl when hell likely be a lot busier. Hopefully he finishes last three games between the sticks
I personally think that there is no chance of Brentford slipping up, In fact I'm more worried about us against Barnley and the Tykes getting a good result against us.Oh what did Philips mean with the majority of the fans comment.
Meslier has been good and deserves to keep his place even going into next season. It is vitally important that we sign an experienced back up though to train with him. Someone with premier league experience preferably
