Been speaking to somebody today about managing a procurement contract for cannabis into the German market. Obv they come to me cos I’m a ****in G.

At one point I had to give my head a wobble though... when the unit of measurement being discussed was TONNES. <laugh>

There used to be 2 bars at the entrance to one of the London stations (can’t remember which) where one sold lagers and the other cider. I went in the cider one and that had ciders at 12-14%. The smell of the place would likely get most people pissed. Chose to give that round a miss!

I ordered online, an eco friendly birthday card. It arrived today, and yes it is eco friendly....however, it came in a large white envelope that was twice the size it needed to be, with another envelope inside for the tiniest card you ever did see, along with a large VINYL, yes, vinyl sheet of paper advertising everything the business does, which is not eco friendly, and in the delivery was also a further two IDENTICAL advertisments on paper, explaining to me how eco friendly the card is! FFS, I give up! I won't even bother telling you how much all this cost <doh>

I spend a fair chunk of my business time dealing with these sorts of issues. My business uses 100% compostable packaging and I'm involved in a project I've set up here trying to get others to do the same. As well as dealing with waste packaging. It's a ballache, but I'm prepared to put the time in to try and affect some change. The amount of plastic packaging around is ****ing criminal. Ultimately it needs Govt to legislate, but the plastics lobby are rich and influential and they have tried to block plastic reduction initiatives.
