But there are plenty of other clubs who aren't Celtic who haven't had a minutes applause and away fans or a section of the home fans have booed. It is a pro-active way of beating the ****-wits. And to say it's only a CFC problem shows how blinkered you really are. I'm not even going to bother posting examples because you know fine well it has happened at other clubs.
Venom if you can show me examples of clubs that did not observe the silence for remembrance sunday then i'll retract that statment
Agreed. But Celtic have made it a policy to applaud at all rememberances now. Again, there will be an element of them who are Scottish but there will also be some Irish booing too. Can't say that they should honour the British Army can you? It's a bit of a complex subject for knob-ends like us to be trying to sort out TBH.
NOL - **** off we're not just talking about Rememberance Sunday. I used that as an example, we were talking about applauding vs silence at all times. If you want to twist it round just to suit your own agenda then it shows you up as a total ****-knuckle.
still frank, you have to wonder at the thinking behind it... although if the family requested it then fair enough. anyway i agree it should be observed none the less!
yes cos they are in britain supportin a british club, theres more irish at old trafford and it wud never happen there
Venom check out my comment at 3.10, i'm talking about Rememberance Sunday. Even if we are extending it to all silences does it make it okay for Celtic to appluad because other teams can't observe a silence? Lawell has put Celtic into a position where they need to applaud at all silences because of the idiots who can't observe Rememberance Sunday.
So by that reckoning the booing and abuse Neil Lennon took was shocking because he's British as well as Irish? Or McGeady who holds dual nationality?
But if you read my comments you'll see that the minutes applause actually beat the morons because they had to stage in ineffectual walk-out because they couldn't boo. Some of you boys are laughably blinkered. Spent too long in the company of bigots and sectarians I suspect.
Don't bother replying specifically to me on this anymore either. It's pointless talking to bigots about this.
he got booed because of the northern ireland fans and we all just jumped on the bandwagon, and i dont know what thats got to do with remembering the war dead?
So we have established that applauding has caused the idiots to leave, why not punish these so called fans with a life ban, they might think twice about jeering. Venom i thought you were better than retorting to Bigot etc.. Just because i have a different view or don't agree doesn't make me a bigot
But your point was anyone in Britain should be respectful of Brits. Doesn't matter whether they are a baker or footballer or soldier. At the end of the day honouring people who died in a war is a PERSONAL choice. Seeing as we live in an open and free society I'd think that was very obvious.
I booed Lennon coz he came accross as a wee ginger ****. I've since met him a few times, and he is actually ok. But I'd still boo him.
