Referee will be watching Henry carefully after his spat/s with Joey Barton, so he'll have to be very careful. Hopefully we'll have a strict referee.

If ever he's left out to 'protect' him, he's only more likely to be targeted in the matches he does appear in, and it definitely won't help his confidence either.
Let's remember this all stems from a match again Man City; the fact is, every player of every club is capable of a bad tackle, its football, it happens unfortunately. Hopefully he's had his allotment of bad luck for awhile.

 

& I'd rather it was later. He's only just recovered from his injuries, he's had a long spell out, playing against a physical side like Wolves wont do him much good. I'd rather save him a week and let him at the Spuds.

But seriously, I've been having nightmares about a Henry tackle on Benni all week, we've been lucky with injuries so far this season (Santon aside) and we seem overdue a disaster. Although saying that, with our record of getting people sent off this season hopefully Henry will go the way of the others!

 

Henry is a thug, plain and simple. It's what his game is all about, take no prisoners.

He'll get his one of these days and let's just see what he thinks about it.

I don't think Ben Arfa will play against Wolves (except from 10-15 mins at the end). He has just got back from injury and if we start him against the squad of thugs he will be out injured for another year. We need as many physically imposing players on the pitch as possible and the likes of HBA, Marv, Jonas etc aren't physically strong enough. The likes of Cabaye, Tiote, Saylor and Ba should shine in this game. It's no good playing skilful players who will run at them and take them on because they will just be booted to the ground and because its Wolves referees bizarrely let them get away with it. Stoke is the same.

 

I don't think he'll start, but not 'because it's Wolves' - I just don't believe that Pardew will drop anyone after the great perfomance against Blackburn - Ben Arfa is our most technically gifted player but that doesn't meanhe should automatically be back into the starting XI as soon as he's fit. Just like anyone else he needs to come off the bench and prove WHY he should be starting.

This kind of competition for places is great.

 

I agree with this, Ben Arfur should not start for tactical reasons, and not because we fear Wolves aggressive style of play. I think the fact that Mick McCarthy admires aggresive footballers like Henry doesn't help our cause. Unlike Tiote, Henry seems to get away with a lot more than he should.

 

Yeah - Benny should be on the bench again on Saturday. Wolves are a team full of clubbers and I don't think it is worth risking him.

Its not protecting him from being hacked down, but the lad has been out for 12months with a horrific injury - he needs to be re-integrated gradually in my book (over a period of a month or so), not just after one sub appearence at home.

 

I think Hatem should come on vs Wolves, just for 10-15 mins though.

He could have scored/got an assist within like 20 secs vs Blackburn

I always remember when tiote but de jong on his arse after the ben arfa tackle. he stood over him for a good few seconds and de jong looked like he had sharted lol

Is it just me or when he's waiting around to score his goal, does he look like he's looking for a pass and then goes "F*ck this, I don't need them". His acceleration is amazing!
