I’m torn tbh. I wanted Wet Spam and Villa to go down, and so to keep the interest I was hoping for an upset tonight. The penalty was a joke. United will get their CL place anyway, unless Citeh get off next week.
Teams Greenwood has scored against. Spot the pattern. ✘ Liverpool - Man City ✘ Chelsea - Leicester - Man Utd ✘ Wolves ✔ Sheffield ✘ Arsenal ✘ Tottenham ✘ Burnley ✔ Everton ✘ Southampton ✔ Newcastle ✘ Crystal Palace ✔ Brighton - West Ham ✔ Watford ✔ Bournemouth ✔ Aston Villa ✔ Norwich #poorleague
I'm really not sure about City, I think they'll bottle it and end up downgrading the punishment to some suspended sentence and a fine. If we win this... and bear in mind our defence is still shaky, we'll be a point behind Leicester and 2 behind chelsea. Makes things interesting for top 4 as well. I don't have a particular dislike for Villa or West Ham tbh.
I don't see a downgrading personally. What they're accused of warrants a long ban so either the appeal will be upheld or flat out rejected imo.
City's legal team seem really really confident, they must think they have some evidence to prove UEFA wrong.
I’ve said from the off, that’ll they’re likely to get off based on the fact that the entire case is built on stolen emails.
I'm probably just being a cynic after CAS ruling in favour of Barca a couple of days ago. I just expect it to go in favour of the money clubs that shaft the system.
Yeah agreed. I know that obviously everyone proclaims their innocence, but you can do that via a club statement rather than rolling out the CEO for an interview using language like 'irrefutable evidence'. I also think that if it's true that UEFA based their decision purely on the published emails and didn't consider the evidence supplied by City then it can only go one way. All guesswork at the minute though.
Did he start any of those games? I agree though, poor league, which is why your pack of rats looked so good for most of it.
