Who'd have believed a few short weeks ago we'd have the in form back four?! Three back to back clean sheets. Considering they include Boro and WHU away, that's the most impressive aspect of our current form. Keep it up, get Chopra firing again and don't get hit with too many injuries; can we start to dream? Apart from anything else we're playing football the Ipswich way and it's a great spectacle again. I do hope RK is watching from somewhere!! COYB

Wrong Tractor Tim.........it starts from the front. Chops and Scotland are doing their fair share of tracking back, and our midfield shape gives cover to the back four in the centre. Many attacks are being stifled before they even get going and that's great credit to the front six for putting the work in. Don't get me wrong though, Collins and Sonko have been immense too.
Tractor Tim I always kinda hate that saying it starts at the back, as in general its used in an argument when a team are playing negative football. IMO I'd like to think that its important to have a good centre midfield as they can often take the pressure off the back 4 by keeping the ball better. The trouble is as I said on numerous occassions last season Norris just didn't make himself available for the ball unlike those in our midfield now and it makes a hell of a difference for ball retention. But I think we have improved in every position this season. For me the main differences are, not having to play Delaney I agree with you tractorbhoy, I just think he is an awful defender he has the physical attributes but just is such a poor reader of the game and his positional sense is awful it just draws the rest of the defence out of place. Also not having Norris in the team and having players like Bullard and Andrews in the game who even if aren't having a good game always want to get on the ball. Also same goes for Chopra, he may not be having the best of games but he's always an outled, his movement is great and runs off the shoulder of the last defender. We are just so much better than we were this time last year, we at last have something to build upon if we can get Collins and Andrews signed up, clear out some of the fridge players especially Delaney and find some more gems like Cresswell, we'll be well on the way to the promised land. I finally feel like we are becoming like the Ipswich of old again, I'm starting to actually get excited on match days and enjoy watching us.
ptc, I guess some of those fridge players won't be coming back in from the cold then. I knew there was a reason why they had been frozen out lol. On a positive note, clearing out your fridge can help things from going stale.
