Well firstly bookies always try to get some money in before runners and riders are properly announced.

Secondly his brand of football cannot be any worse than LJ during the downwards bits of his annual roller coaster ride.

And Thirdly Pulis and Warnock, as much as I would not want either (especially given we tried Pulis once) both have impressive records of promotions.

Managers are hired to be fired and so we knew this was coming and it will be interesting to see how SL, and the other members of the selection team, go about their business. Surely this is the time for us to go out and get the best available and whoever is chosen will surely have a job on their hands. A manager with top level football credentials and the ability to motivate his players must surely be needed in the job description and if we could combine those attributes with strong contacts at the clubs that might provide players, who are up and coming but just need more playing time, then we could be a better rounded squad.

The big question is who will it be and do you think they should be invited to come aboard prior to next season's start? That would give them the opportunity to appraise what's here and where to look for the players needed to get us to the play-offs next time out.

Have a look at Johnsons record, it's actually worse.

But I’m not arguing that. I’m hoping we set our sights higher than Mark Robbins.

To me I hope we go foreign signing like Van Bommel who says he wants to try his luck in this country. Won’t be him but someone who is going to go into the club with a winning mentality.
Look at the Forest manager who sits back and then counter attacks well. Someone like that would do me. Someone who will make us hard to breakdown and not have our midfield steamrollered regularly.

Sky Bet have installed Hughton as 6/4 favourite and Pulis has quickly drifted out to 20/1.

Hughton fits the bill in many ways, record, playing background, respect and of course the current issue of the lack of BAME managers.

Parting company was the right thing to do.
Shame it didn’t work out but recent results were unacceptable and he had to go.
I wouldn’t mind Houghton taking over tbh.

I wouldn't mind Mark Robbins but I do agree with you, if we succeeded in appointing someone of a higher calibre I'm all for it, it's all about economy.

Remember the Board will want a coach, most tried and proven managers will want managerial control which they will not get at City

    Hello, hope you’re well mate.

Mark Ashton gets a lot of hate but he has done well in his job in regards to getting huge transfer fees for our players and also bringing in some quality additions. I personally don’t have anyone in mind and nobody stands out to me but I think we can trust them to make the right choice this time.

Just read the list of ‘runners’, Hughton aside, there is nothing to inspire me there. Some potentially talented, but unproven talent in the lower leagues, but given how vitriolic many so-called city fans have been towards the last person we went down this route with, it may not be the way to go.....
