We didn't play terribly and had spells where we should have scored. I think Neville even said we should be 2-0 up at one point.

Robertson was woeful, complete head gone Lovren performance. Our passing and finishing was poor, at one point Mane just ran over the ball when through on goal.

The issue is the dent it's put in our aspirations to break as many records as possible.

    Still on for:
    • Most points in top division
    • Most wins
    • Wins by a one-goal margin
    • Win doubles
    • Points gap to second
    • First ever 100% home PL record

    Not on for:
    • Most away wins (16)

Huffed and puffed but the sharpness wasn't there. Any other day we'd have bagged a few ourselves, they were there to be had.
Perhaps they'd been partying too much, or subconsciously taken the foot off the gas because it's done - it wouldn't be the first time that's happened.
In the second half, with no crowd and all those substitutions it felt like a training session anyway.
I'm always disappointed to lose, whatever the occasion - but I'll get over it.

They've had nearly a week since we won the league - they're young athletes. Unless we were still bevvying up until Tuesday, there's no way to use that as an excuse. The midfield let De Bruyne completely run the game, the defence, even including Virgil a little bit, were gash, and the front three continuously got into great positions, only to trip over the ball or be unable to pass it five yards.

We won't win the league like this....

Young Williams looked sharp, maybe should have put him (and Jones) on earlier. They are hungry for minutes.

It wasn't just KDB, Foden was just as influential. Annoyingly, so was Sterling.

How's that a consolation? Despite the ridiculous Gallagher Bros, sulky Bernado and slithering Sterling, I'd love City to win the CL. They're a magnificent football team, and De Bruyne is worth watching every game he plays in. If it was Uniturd or Chelski playing, I'd agree with you, but I'm hoping City win the CL and Wolves win the Europa. Pity we're not in these tournaments, but I'm hoping it will be a feast of late summer magic.

Yes, Foden looks worth all the hype. Sterling is always as good as you let him be - what is infuriating is that Joe has always played him well until now, and by-and-large, Sterling has been mediocre against us. Next time we play he'll be brimming now, and Joe will have work cut out. Really poor night's work from him.

When one champion has just toppled the other, you expect the dispossessed to have more fight.

Like I said, I'm disappointed, but I suppose I'm just not as angry about it as you seem to be.
We've just won the league, and we were playing the team we've superseded, who are still a hell of a team, and they had something to prove. It's no disaster in my opinion, just a bit frustrating.

Reading your posts on here, I feel exactly the same way. I'm guessing that, like me, you don't participate in any other forms of social media other than here. (?) It keeps your head clear of all the negative, mean and often vicious behaviour associated with platforms such as Twitter. It used to be called oneupmanship, now it's much more sinister. I like the silly, clever and inventive stuff that often gets posted on here but generally speaking where football fans are concerned, the tone descends very quickly.

Far be it from me to intervene on a bit of Kopite fume, but last night was nothing to do with partying or ale mate.

What last night showed is just how small the margins are at the highest level. You’ve won the league and no matter what anyone says, that game was a dead rubber for your team. I doubt they approached it in an unprofessional way at all, but what will have been missing is the 2 or 3% of genuine drive that would have been on show if it had been a fully competitive game. This won’t have been conscious merely a natural sub conscious reaction, and you got murdered as a result. As City had a genuine point to prove and were fully on it.

Not sure what’s worse here, the crap homophobic gag, or the idea that you think I’d fancy Zanj.
