NZ has a few as well, the last time I looked. Most of the new cases here are in Victoria (77 new cases yesterday) but somebody travelled to Sydney from Victoria and tested positive after starting work at a Woolies and another returned home via Melbourne and Brisbane and tested positive in the Northern Territories. So, you're right, it could kick off again. Talking seriously about air bridges for a moment, as far as your air bridge to here is concerned I would say it is unlikely to happen this year.
I think it is something to do with pillar 1 and pillar 2 results. Apparently you were only counting pillar 1 results to date i.e. those carried out by an NHS lab or similar. Now you have added in the pillar 2 results from the commercial labs that were doing testing. I believe you have pillar 3 and pillar 4 testing results to add in at some time.
Strange your government has put Australia on the list of countries that you can travel to when our government has the following on it's website
Our governments announcement was about on returning to the UK from the listed countries... I'm not even going to the pub let alone travelling overseas.
Oops yes I must read the official information rather than the British media. Sky said the following that lead me to the impression, wrongly, that British holiday makers could travel freely to the named countries.
>50,000 new cases reported for one day in USA this week, a new record! What a reflection on national leadership eh? MASA!
The administration seems far too concerned about getting the economy back on track to help their re-election push. Stamping on the virus hard and controlling it would probably have seen a rise in popularity for Trump but instead he rubbished the risk and flaunted professional advice, so nothing new there then.
Trump was planning on the economy being his big reason to be re-elected so COVID-19 really scuppered him.
We've just been told that there are 108 new cases in Victoria, additional areas in Melbourne are going into lock down and 9 tower blocks have been put into total lock down, nobody in or out. In Queensland no new cases and just 1 person, who is in hospital, known to have the virus. The borders to other states open next Friday.
I disagree the people need to take responsibility for their own behaviour. This pandemic is not a secret.
