They were set up very well to defend crosses and we kept waiting for them to get organised before putting the ball in the box. That was never going to work, so I've no idea why we persisted with it.
I understand that but I still expect more thought from the runners...their job is not just to run lines and they are more than capable of assisting

Yeah no doubt, I expected much more too, the talent we had today should not be losing 3-1. For me the blame lies on them as well as the manager, I don't think Jose done enough to get us back into the game whilst the players have just been doing what they have all season - letting their manager(s), their fans and the club down.
Barely anything to do defensively but still conceded 3. Going forward, you have to feel for Kane as he put the ball in the net 4 times with no service. No surprise that we overplayed it and didn't have enough of an incisive threat to create things in the final third though, Lo Celso was playing deep, while Lamela was on the bench. 3 wingers weren't going to unlock the final third for us, we needed their defence to be poor but for the most part they were organised. No surprise the goal came from a lovely diagonal from Lamela, he and Gio are the only ones that can do that for us with any regularity. Complete mess.
