80's for me. So many classics - Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Breakfast Club, Top Gun, Wargames, Goodfellas...

 

best years of my life ... I've been having somewhat of a mid life crisis and thinking about how much a miss that part of my life. I think lockdown has brought it on somewhat.. asside from that it just was better ... no phones, less people had been consumed by the real world and less arseholes.. just more care free...

 

I know what you mean. It was better before mobile phones. This 24/7 contact with people is unhealthy. As is social media.

never seen it ... but now you mention it I believe movies peaked around 85 -2000 ... all the memorable ones seem to be within that time frame, but I do wonder if it's simply just because that time frame I was happier and easier to please.. the real world sucked the life out of me

You and me both. I turned 40 last year. I see some of my mates who I used to party with. I got married had kids. I’m happy don’t get me wrong but man I miss the ****ing randomness of nights out. Most of my mates now are actually divorced and having a second swing at it all. Lucky bastards.

I don’t how the **** the kids nowadays end up in relationships. They meet someone and every ****er knows their dick length because of social media. Basically apps like tinder is just legalised prostitution!

Gone are the days of you meet a lass you gan back to hers or yours. You have a bit of fun. You get the phone number (house phone) and you call her up meet her and then go ****ing hell I shagged that last night. Ha ha

 

I actually believe I was born in the wrong era. I would have liked to have been a 60/70s kid.

Man then where the days. The snowflakes nowadays just want everything. We earned it and proper spent it. There’s times now when I have flash backs and I shudder. My first holiday abroad with the lads in two weeks I didn’t sleep in my own room once. I am not kidding you either.

A mate last week told me a lass at school who was a bit of a goth chick back then really looked after herself and he spent the night with her Recently and he honestly thought he was going to have a heart attack. She basically abused him for 7 hours.

 

I was in 2 long term relationships and when the last one ended I was shocked by how things had changed.. today there a no dates or any requirement for being nice or implying you like a relationship... my skills were once brilliant but things had changed so much they were useless. They just want total disrespect
