Good Morning. It's Wednesday 1st July, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Leeds thwarted by lowly Luton

Leeds once again, with be rueing their missed opportunities between the sticks having been held to a 1-1 draw against Luton Town at Elland Road last night.

A combination of edged misses, sturdy framework and goal keeping beyond the keepers means (which we have come to expect from most teams playing Leeds this season) frustrated the Whites in front of goal.

Did the fact that Bielsa kept the same starting line up (for the 4,768 time in a row) help Nathan Jones with his tactics? Surely, if you know what your opposition are going to do up front, you can put a plan in place!

Why do Leeds not learn by their mistakes? This was the mirror image of the Cardiff game!

    Bielsa's post match reaction

A thoroughly depressed Marcelo Bielsa tries to explain to the the press why his players can not hit a barn door from 18 yards.

"It is a pity for us because we lost five points that weren't difficult to win.

"The opponent needed two chances to score and we needed 12 chances to score once. It's a match that we should've won easily, because it was even clearer than the Cardiff match."

    Injury update

Leeds will be without Tuesdays nights goal scorer for their visit to Blackburn.

Stuart Dallas has a slight hamstring pull, and will be rested until after the weekend.

Cooper and Hernandez are also both carrying knocks. Their situation will be monitored!

Bielsa said (re Dallas): “He feels something in the lower back/glutes, but don’t think he’s going to play in the next match.” On Cooper: “It’s a kick, very painful in the side, but don’t think it’s a heavy injury.”

Discussing whether Hernandez could get 90 minutes on Saturday, Bielsa said: “We are going to analyse this. He played less than the last match today. See how he feels from now to Saturday. After that we are going to decide.”

    LUTV

Is everyone happy with the quality of LUTV?

Put aside your loyalties to former club favorites, but should Beckford get anywhere near a commentary box?

What do Emma Louise Jones and Ben Parker add to the party?

What about the stream itself, is it good enough?

What about the recording / editing. Several times we missed opportunities when replays were being shown!

Should we expect more considering our owner is a Sports Media Tycoon?

Difficult to know what to say that hasn't been said over and again. Same missed mistakes, same personnel, same awful set pieces and corners. When will we stop making a wonder of opposition keepers though? They're paid to make saves, its what keepers do. Same as strikers are paid to score goals. Simple game

    Morning all.

Aside from the obvious last night this is one thing I was getting really mad about.

Luton had packed their box out trying to defend what they had. We were, as usual, playing some excellent build up play.
It seemed to me that at times our players got frustrated and were taking wild long shots which were ballooning over.
This was giving away goal kicks which I had time to make a cup of tea in the time it took the goalie to then take.

Also, once again a goalkeeper who had been awful all season turns into Buffon and Seamens love child against us.

And for all the usual twitter melt down. We are top, we will stay top regardless of wba result tonight. Brentford are chasing wba down, not us.
Last season because of the way Norwich stormed away towards the end of the season we were fighting over one auto spot.
This season we are fighting over two and we are in pole position with a significant lead and declining number of games.

Good Morning to Matt and co from a cold Bardsey
We were let down by the usual suspects Bamford and Costa how much more can we to0lerate carrying in these 2 give Tyler a chance and Alioski
Brentford on present form will go up instead of us or WBA they are the highest scorers in the league and joint best defence
Lets hope Monk does us a favour by beating WBA tonight

No **** sherlock <doh> But here's the conundrum. Even if we manage to lift a corner into the box, we have only a bunch of shorties to aim at anyway. Any defence with a few 6 footers will tower love ours. Maybe those low flying corners are deliberate hoping for some sort of flick ons. Still should have been out of sight last night despite that

    Good morning,

Even if you take scoring from open play out of the equation we should be winning games from the number of corners we have alone. I'm all for being creative with them but they hardly ever make it into the box.

I wonder where we would be if we still had Roofe. He wasn't the most prolific scorer we've had but given the same service that Bamford's had this year I think he'd be over 20 goals by now.

LUTV, generally good pictures, but they need a bit of decent commentary. Could do with a bit more behind the scenes stuff as well. LUTV doesn't drop out like the links do and is about live, rather than a few, up to 20-30secs, behind reality.

Did one of our corners end up in our own half, or did i imagine it ? shocking schoolboy playground stuff, for some reason we are totally ineffective at corners, same at free kicks, you won't see one of ours bent around a wall & in the back of the net.As for our crossing well, it's a case of running at the defence and hitting it in the general danger zone instead of looking up & targetting a player, but i guess if you havn't got a Sergio Aguero up front but a Bamford you get the result were getting.
    Moan over.
Having said all that, we must be doing something right, as top of the league and look like we are going up. However things as we all know, will have to improve up front and in defence as two shots at goal against us usually means conceding one (could you imagine the field day the top premiership strikers would have) but i am sure given the funding Marcello would over a couple of seasons, will have us competing at the very top.

Never mind about Roofe, we had one of the best finishers in the league but we wouldn't play him, Nkietah. That still rankles with me, he would have put away both those chances Bamford and Costa missed last night.

Just to inject some positivity, after the first third of the mini season we've gained a point on Fulham and could pull anywhere up to three points further in front of West Brom after tonight's game than we were before the break. We now have to keep an eye on Brentford but overall that's not too bad, especially with two of our most difficult games out of the way.

We might stumble and fall over the finish line due to the failings of others. Fast Eddie would have scored last night but hes no good at triangles so was ditched.

We make keepers look good because our shots are so weak.

I said early on their keeper looked sharp. As for the long shot approach I’m all for it, trying to walk it in all the time does my head in, but they need to be on target. None of our side bang them in regularly from 20 yards. :(
