Southampton takeover took 8 months.

 

Yeah but So'ton were being competently run. Our owner was already useless and is now utterly absent. Nobody knows what's happening, there are no budgets, recruitment is free transfers only. The PL is ****ing Newcastle up the arse, and enjoying it, every day.

If you want my bet on when a takeover happens - if at all - I'd go for after the transfer window shuts. Just so we all have to "respect the PL's authoritah".

 

8 months would mean no transfers in and potential relegation in their 1st season ... it really isn't acceptable

Masters have by stealth said - We want this, we need the Saudi's to show that they have addressed piracy. By doing so, thevtest will be concluded shortly.

The Saudi's have done this. Masters reiterated cobfidentiality and objectivity. It's about what the Saudi's can do for Newcastle United. Will any action they take impact adversely on the club financially.

I liked his separation of political and moral arguments in the earlier exchanges too. Particularly when the chair brought up slavery in Qatar.

Masters use of the word objective is the key. For me, he hinted that it is a yes provided the Saudi's demonstrate effective action and remedy for piracy.

I took from it that the questions to be asked are:

1) Will these owners act in a way that is fit and proper for the good of the Premier League, it's members and the clubs.

2) Will these owners act in a fit and proper way towards Newcastle United, the city, fans and history of the club.

He gave a very subtle hint. Good news is coming.
