I'd be good with this. Romeu is a must start for me, he's always up for a fight against city at the etihad.
Agreed however we need to see him on an extended run to evaluate his ability to see if we keep him long term
I like Adams, once he scores I think he will go on a run. I think he may be long-esque though; lots of work and hassling, few goals. Atm Ings works best with Long.
Half a game each given the warm weather. They can run their legs off for 45 minutes not needing to pace themselves.
Referee: Andre Marriner. Assistants: Simon Long, Harry Lennard. Fourth official: Keith Stroud. Replacement official: Graham Kane. VAR: Andy Madley. Assistant VAR: Stephen Child.
Maybe Romeu'll pop up there on Friday or Saturday, take a few of them out in training, before driving back in time for the match at St Marys
What can the club do about our poor home from? Makes you wonder where we would be if our home points haul were the same as our away.
Ready to be dismantled by the 'football elite' this summer as all the players and manager must be too good for lil ole Southampton.
If our home form was as good as our away we'd be roughly Wolves. Conversely if our away form was as bad as our home we'd be Norwich. Ultimately we're an average side with a top striker.
I'd have them all much of a muchness. Oba looked dangerous first time out but poor against Arsenal. Long had a few decent moments, Adams had that one good run against Watford where he nearly scored. I hope I'm wrong but I think people are willing him to score so much that they are blinded to the fact that he just mightn't be good enough for this level
Djenepo is back from suspension, is he not? If so I could see giving him a start to build some momentum for next season and also because he is one of the players who on his day might be able to make a difference against Man City,
From the snippets I’ve seen of him, he shows everything needed to be good enough at this level, just missing the goals. looks a very good player.
The goal he laid on for Armstrong before lockdown showed he has a quick footballing brain and the technical ability to execute his ideas. It’s only a matter if time before he scores. People should be focussing on the way he created that chance for himself on Sunday with his strength and speed, rather than the fact that Foster managed to save it.
