Arsenal were probably the draw we wanted to avoid, they’re like our bogey team at the minute. I think if we get past Chelsea we will win it, City can’t contain our forwards cos their defence is far too slow/****e.
We are vulnerable to anybody currently ... need to shake it up ... Vardy is isolated and we are just not creating... but your lot might just be what the doctor ordered ... here's hoping
I'm surprised Lampard has kept Chelsea where he has, so taken to him in a strange way...but not gay. But I also like to see Ole do well, he gets way too much stick from the old school, Roy Keane needs to lay off him. I know loads of people won't agree with what I say and I can't be asked to argue it.
Lampard is very astute - his changes at half time today worked a treat ...albeit we are a bit ****e at the moment - future England manager nailed on IMHO
Still can't see England winning anything in our lifetime Only ever seen one decent manager in all these decades Bobby Robson and even the media gave him a hard time to start with. Sadly ole big head (Clough) never got a chance.
Leicester need to fix up pronto or their season will be left in tatters. Chelsea, Wolves and United all in great form as their own campaign starts to stutter. It’s likely that Chelsea will be 3rd by Wednesday evening and I can’t see where they start to drop points after that for a while. I think we close out our season at Leicester, could be a huge game, one which Maguire’s transfer might pay for itself.
That final day with Wolves v Chelsea in the other game is likely going to be huge. I’d make you and Chelsea favourites now with the 5 subs and squad depth (see Chelsea’s subs yesterday) and probably Wolves 5th but they’ll fight to the end as they are used to playing so many games. We just seem broken, I can see us being mathematically out of the race by the final day but still having a say on who does get it
Wolves and United also have the Europa League as a backdoor option on the CL. With that being played in August I can see whoever has already qualified for the CL, such as Inter, Sevilla, Roma, maybe United/Wolves, just throwing it away, as it’s not worth the risk going into the following season.
Possibly, for Man Utd etc the EL is not the biggest prize when you won it a couple of years back and have pedigree in the CL. Teams like Wolves and Roma your list who aren’t serial winners I imagine the EL is massive not just for the CL place but the name on the trophy itself. That’s how I’d feel as a Leicester fan if we were in Wolves position.
Yeah possibly. Sevilla seem to like that competition as well. It’s hard to tell until we see what July does to the players with 9 or 10 games in 30 days.
I don’t think it’s throwing it necessarily, as in looking to lose. I think all managers will think their players will need rest after a cluster of games, heading into a season of CL football only a month down the line, players will want a break, time with their families, time to go back home if they’re from foreign shores etc.
Wolves started this current season on the 25/07/2019. Crazy to think they might not finish it until mid-late August 2020.
Logically i agree but he does seem , and get , his team to play full on game after game . I fully assumed he would put out a much weakened team in the group stages of the EL but instead it was close to the first choice . Personally think a number of big European clubs must be watching the progress he has made with Wolves and seriously considering him as their next manager .
I could only describe Wolves as a relentless machine. They are just solid and consistent which is why they’ll have no problem making up 3 more points on us. He’s done a great job there albeit well funded with big money signings.
there may have been some big money signings but the money has been well spent and that is the important thing from a clubs pov .
to be fair, wolves haven't spent a lot on any single player (there biggest being 30m for jimenez). Most of the signing have been on average 15m. They have made quite a lot of signings so their net spend is quite high (i guess thats normal when you get promoted to the PL) but they have just done a great job albeit aided by an agent. Leicester have done decently as well, buying in good players although you have lost your big players recently to fund it.
I guess I’m think Jiminez and Neves (championship record fee) and the keeper Patricio would have been expensive but he’d cancelled his contract with Sporting. They have some proven experiences players who you’d imagine are highly paid and the agent as you say. Like Solid Air says above, they have spent well and well managed. Our recruitment has picked up and we buy players with a view to their value increasing but our managerial appointments are never good. We are a soft side with no fight albeit talented on our day. No plan B either.
