It seems he has told Mancini to **** off.

A forward falling out with his manager and his tactics who would have thunk it?

Mancini says if he had his way Tevez wouldn't play again.

Could be interesting if anyone has the money to put one of these mercenaries in their place it has to be City.
Hold him to ransom make him sit on the bench, no appearance no pay and keep doing it. :)

Er ... you're going to give a homesick Carlos Tevez every weekend off to go home and see his family ... and still pay him £200,000+ a week? Oh boy, let's see how much he bleats about that.

When you're losing game after game and thirsting for a goal (as we were last Spring) you can sit Darren Bent on the bench as long as you like. Someone's job is gonna come under threat ... think about it.

It doesn't matter how much money you've got, when a guy has something you need ...............

The Ball type of player is a thing of the past. You'll only become so desperate to hold onto your job and you will fetch Bent back out of the reserves. It's a matter of self-preservation.

Nope said make him sit on the bench.
Or as mitch says play him in the reserves.
Like I said no show no pay.
He is contracted to City so he can't **** off home and get his £200k !
If he tries it on fine him more than his wages.

But he's not on a 'no show, no pay' contract is he? And if you try to impose one at the end of his present contract, he'll simply sit out his present contract and walk out on a Bosman. You can't force him to sign a 'no show, no pay' contract no matter how much you'd like to.

Are you saying if he decides he isn't going to turn up City still have to pay him.
    Don't think so mate.
Players can be fined for being late, never mind not turn up.

    Excellent thread.

After the Gyan debacle, I thought that I really hoped that a club that could afford it (I had Real Madrid in mind) taught one of these ****ers a lesson.

Obviously we can't afford it and have to cash in on Gyan.

But it would be excellent to force these ****ers to stay, and if they went on strike or abused the staff they then got fined two weeks' pay (as clubs can do) to the end of their contracts. ****ing lying mercenary scum. **** off B€nt and Cashamoah.

    Rant over.

Well, if he's included in the squad he'd have to turn up. So he sits on his arse for £200,000 a week - he should care. But if he's not picked for the squad, he can please himself. He's not contracted to watch from the stands. And if he takes a flight home to see the family, you will pay him because you didn't pick him.

Cutey, mate, you've got me completely wrong.

The problem with our team is we can't score goals, and haven't since B€nt left.

    I wasn't denying the fact.

I was just slagging off mercenaries.

Dave, I didn't mean you any offence - I don't like doing that sh*t. I just meant to say that the modern player is a mercenary, and, really, they have us all by the balls. It can be Real, or Man. C. - whoever - but if you've got Bent or Gyan in your reserves or on your bench and you lose two games in a row 1-0, you just know what's going to happen to you! The board, the press, the fans and half the world will be down on you like a ton of bricks to reinstate him. He can't lose - either he takes it easy in the reserves for £40,000 a week, or he comes back, scores three in three games and is back in the England reckoning - on the same £40,000 a week. Who cares? Players really do have clubs by the knackers today.

Tevez doesn't have to kick another ball in his life - every five weeks he's raking in a million. And a million pounds sterling means a very good lifestyle back in Argentina. Screw what Mancini thinks - that's the truth of it.

Does this mean Mancini doesn't have his way when it comes to team selection? Interesting confession.

No matter what. I think Tevez is a hell of a player, strange thing is SAF could handle him.

There's a BIG difference between the abilities of SAF & Mancini to be fair. In time maybe not but for the present, certainly so.

    No problem mate!

You're completely right - unfortunately. I was just dreaming, thinking it would be excellent if a club taught one of these mercenaries a lesson, but I know it won't happen!
