Championing the BLM mass marches & scalding people for trying to have some happiness & welfare. The media have a lot to answer for.

I blame the lack of proper organisation and communication, from the government, for all the issues with the breaching of lockdown.
Throughout the crisis I have been putting links on here to just how well everything has been controlled in Spain, including the re-opening of the country by districts based on the current situation in each district.
Every do or don’t was put out in writing, by phases, with absolutely everybody being able to know what they could or couldn’t do, BY LAW.
None of this “Stay Alert” bollocks which is just the government trying to put the blame onto the public if/when a second wave comes.
Even this week I have put up a link to how beaches in Spain were sectioned off, by rope, to ensure social distancing is maintained on the beaches, whereas we have full beaches and no control, AND we are not yet at the level of safety that they have reached.
Masks MUST be carried by everyone, in Spain, and MUST be worn if 1.5m social distancing cannot be maintained outside, as well as in shops and on all transport.
Here they are mandatory on transport and in hospital. Nowhere else!
If I come across as pissed off, it’s because I am pissed off, especially at those who seem to have given up on “Staying alert”.
My poor wife has only left home twice, since the middle of March, both times to go to the hospital.
It would be wonderful for her to be able to spend some time outside, but her vulnerability, and not being able to trust other people to do the right thing, will not allow it.
Sadly her vulnerability will increase in the near future when she restarts treatment owing to the return of her cancer.

Great. Look forward to seeing you and perhaps taking you to see Atlético Baleares. Where are you staying? Soller and Puerto Soller are fantastic if you can get a good deal.

Joking apart, the sea temperature in mid-June was about as warm as it is in late October around Mallorca. For Mallorcans, beach weather is from now until September. For Germans it lasts until November. For the Brits, it's all year round. Even in January, Brits think the weather here is like summer. It was for me for my first Xmas here in 2012.

Many cyclists come through Esporles, where I live. It is a trek from Pollenca, about 90km through the Tramontaña.

Cycling in Spain is very popular and when driving out there it is very frustrating when coming across a peloton that is long and wide. I’m quite sure that they should never be more than 2 abreast, and should go down to single file in narrow roads, but the rules are frequently ignored.
Here’s a link to cycle laws in Spain. A couple of, what I think odd, exclusions for wearing helmets, such as “when it’s extremely hot”.
