Best mate was a copper , retired about the same time as me , and he ****ing loathed the Met and always insisted they were lazy corrupt ****holes . Probably didn't help when they stopped him out with 2 mates down there and they seperated them and started accusing them of an assault earlier in the evening . After about 10 mins of pretty much taking the piss John pulled out his warrant card and told the Met plod to just sod off He always thought more "vulnerable" people may well have been charged .
i remember reading the story about the murdered sisters on the bbc website. I can't remember if it was one of them being murdered at the the time or one of them long reads that the bbc sometimes puts out a few months later. Either way it wasn't front page news and with so many murders, it very rarely is for most of them The stuff the police did though after the fact is totally unacceptable and they deserve to be sacked. As for missing cases on the night, i think thats probably down to manpower. They don't even bother turning up to robberies half the time let alone missing cases (or so i've heard!).
When i got mugged in my neighbourhood, i can't remember how long it took for them to turn up. Anyway, i tell them what happened, giving them exact road names. So i have a follow up interview with the detective who basically tells me theres no chance (which is fair enough) but going through the details the coppers might as well have made their own story up as they got half of the details wrong.

I had to go check this is for real! Even more mystifying it actually does exist as a tweet the source states it comes from. Never ever heard this before, and would be interested in knowing the source of the information. This is the trouble with social media, blanket statements can be made with no evidence to validate the claim and in what context it was said/made. Now the context could be for example, an inner city and where finding the Countryside could involve an hour drive. Now if you are low paid or low income BAME family, and don't have a car - it might be deemed as a 'white environment' as a social class, a bit like, how preventing walks during lock-down, affected more inner city families, than it did with its urban (town/village) counterpart who have gardens. Beyond that, I'm lost on it!
