You're reading way too deeply into this, I suspect. At the very beginning of the crisis, his justification for not taking passengers (who were American citizens) off the cruise ships was that it would cause their numbers to go up. That's as far as his mind goes. Edit: he is not kidding.
Don’t pack your speedos just yet. Blurry map of Spain. The orange areas represent outbreaks of coronavirus, since the “new normal” started. Fingers crossed.
More clear advice from Spain, not the crappy stay alert stuff we get. A Polite Reminder to anyone travelling into Spain, in the coming days/weeks, please be aware you MUST carry a MASK at ALL times. It’s NOT a CHOICE. This will continue until a Vaccine is available. While sitting at a table in a bar or restaurant this does not apply, BUT leaving your seat for any reason requires you to have a mask with you. The Royal Decree revised on 20 June states it is OBLIGATORY to carry a MASK with you at all times, and must be worn if a social distance of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained. The police can and will fine you on the spot up to 1000 euros! Please be careful and respectful.
Hopefully by October, the UK will have got the virus under control, although the above posts about beaches are a worry, especially when you see the posts I have shared about the beach controls in Spain proving that it can be done. Most of my info is Costa Blanca related, but here’s a link, for Mallorca. Grant Shapps is supposed to be issuing a statement soon, as to where we can travel, outside of essential business. https://www.mallorcasunshineradio.com/coronavirus-in-mallorca/
I been on furloughed for 14 weeks now(5 weeks to go) not even so much as left my town I live in yet. And yet for some lockdown is well and truly over.
'Lockdown' largely is isn't it? The pandemic isn't of course, but come 4th July I don't see how anyone could argue that were still in lockdown. Anyway my point being that I'd wager a large amount of those people would normally be in work.
Yep definitely agree with you that a large number of them should either be at work or the kids should be at school( so the mums would normally be doing the school run). But for some it’s just been one big holiday.
The cabinet did not just turn a blind eye to Cummings breaking the lockdown they actually backed him so why are you so surprised that people say **** off to Johnson and his rules. We all know its OK to break them. When Hancock said "its your civic duty" everyone said piss off. This ragbag bunch of novices have brought this on the country. They should have hauled Cummings over the coals and cut his balls off. Instead they patted him on the back. That is why the beaches are packed. Nobody takes this corrupt government seriously anymore.
I really really dislike all this preaching and moaning about people going out. Social media is full of it and it's doing my nut in.
Been going on throughout the whole thing sadly. Mainly by people who are pretty comfortable in life I've noticed, seen a lot of it with colleagues at work.
Even back then though, when you hear of people phoning the old bill cos their neighbour has gone for a second walk or had the temerity to get in their car then it's a sad state of affairs.
