And people continuing to spout their bile will make them change their minds? Don't think that him getting the sack is about changing his mind, it's about society saying that what they are doing is not considered acceptable in any shape or form, that there are responsibilities for your actions and hopefully people will think twice before doing that kind of thing

The way it came across? I wouldn't worry about the way my posts come across, as that's your opinion, might be some others as well. However some people might see your comments against that post as trying to distract from what's happened, defending bigots and especially the 'are you sure you're not WLW as trying to undermine me as a poster, all about personal perspective I guess.

I'll go as far as to say I'm glad that bigots are being held responsible for their actions and like in my above comment it's good to see society saying what they have been doing is not acceptable. They only have themselves to blame, I have zero sympathy for them.

Anyway... Carry On up the Khyber

Not angry in the slightest, reflective. Emotion is usually added to words read by the reader, especially as I've not used any angry or aggressive language

The problem is one of perception. It's not against the law to say White Lives Matter but he loses his job, gets banned from his team. For me, what he did was unwise because it could be seen as divisive, but equally, the penalty he has had to pay is divisive. People that don't usually take sides, will take his side. Then they see the riots in Brixton last night where a mostly black mob injure more police and damage vehicles and other property. You get a chasm in society, and it's not good for anyone. All sparked off by racist cops in another country

Difficult for the business to keep him on though nonetheless even if as the owner you condone or at least don’t mind his actions if it’s bringing them negative publicity.

To be fair though, from what I’ve read the lads social media posts have been racist to say the least.....so I would like to think it’s that rather than the banner that got him the ‘tin tac’.......at least that’s what I’d like to hope

I think businesses are **** scared of the BLM movement at the moment, because it seems to have momentum (although it won't last long if we have a lot more riots like last night). The plane bloke did not break the law. I think an official warning would have been fine, but with a miles deep recession coming, businesses aren't taking any chances.

If that's the case, fine. I haven't seen his social media stuff. Under employment laws, they must have given him a reason for sacking him. I'd be interested to know what that is

Not sure it’s got much to do with BLM. The bloke has been outed as a racist beyond the plane banner stunt. No business wants to be seen to be condoning that by sticking with an employee exposed as making such comments on a public domain.

edit- Staines basically said the same.

It was a coincidence then, that he was sacked after the banner?

    Probably not
But you don't need a burning torch or a pitch fork these days to join a mob either

I think the banner got them looking into his social media account. Talk of ‘pakis’ and ‘spear chuckers’ etc etc.....not a nice bloke at all

I assume someone did a tiny amount of digging once he proudly declared himself the brains behind the banner on Facebook.
