    Doing this in baby steps:

You do know that colonial is rooted in the term colony, don't you?

You do realise that almost every European country had colonies all round the world, with many of them in North America, don't you?

You do realise that the land grab you talk about in North America was carried out by these colonists, don't you?

And finally, you do realise that this took place before the USA was founded, don't you?

So why attack USAsians and not the European colonists who did the dirty deed?

Didn't seem to affect your thinking when you went to New Zealand, did it?

Did you take the blame for the land grab from the Maoris? Didn't think so!

I don't believe I did. It started, I believe with my responding to "All Lives Matter" and "White Lives Matter" comments here.

Now I'm realizing that what people were really saying is "White Lies Matter."

I think you missed my point. He was not a great leader at the outset as he allowed isolationists to push him into staying out of World War 2 until Japan attacked at Pearl Harbor.

Go look again <doh> many land grabs and massacres done by US Army <doh>
And since you mention it, and are obviously ignorant of it as usual, ever heard of the Waitangi tribunal, no, no surprise there, it's an agreement between Mauri and the government, where a large payment is made every year as compensation for lost land etc. So you got everything wrong again, no surprise go back sleep.

He did what he could, without support of most political leaders or the people who didn't want to get involved after WW1

If you had read it before shouting your mouth off above, you wouldn't look so foolish now.

Yeah, I understand that. I really do get it.

My major point was that if my sons generation grow up rightly thinking that everybody is the same then the privilege will be neutralised through time.

The problem with the name "black lives matter" is the word "black". That to me kind of extends the privilege to a further generation by pointing out that black people could be different to white people.

My posts on this are not my or my sons opinions. My major point is how this is affecting kids who currently don't see race as a problem.

How the hell do I explain to an 8 year old boy that everyone is the same (men, women, sexuality, race) when all he sees everywhere is "black lives matter"?

The one thing I would suggest is that there seems to be a massive difference between the U.S and the British. It's almost like you are arguing about two separate things.

And you can't even have the brain capacity to understand one post, no matter how many times it's repeated.

I conclude that you have no comeback whatsoever, given the lack of credible reply.

Perhaps this is your way of throwing in the towel when you cannot wriggle further? <doh>

Yes I know I'm right, and I know you're wrong, I also know you will never admit it. So not much point me banging my head against the wall.

I suggest a good response for “How the hell do I explain to an 8 year old boy that everyone is the same (men, women, sexuality, race) when all he sees everywhere is "black lives matter"?” Would be:

Many in the black community feel that their lives don’t matter to many people as a result of so many black people being killed by police officers. There have been a number of these situations when there was no need for someone to die, it was avoidable, and the killers largely have not been found guilty of any wrong doing. This has made the black people feel that no one care about them and their people dying just as if their lives did not matter to anyone else.

He has obviously been raised well if he sees no difference between us simply based on skin color. His parents deserve great credit!

Kids may not see a problem but there most certainly is one.

Picking up on the experience of Emu’s lad.
I have 2 daughters 16 and 13, both blond and blue eyed, they haver never mentioned to me before the comments they have received.
The last few weeks they have been asking why they get called ‘guiri' spanish for foreigner.Comments on how white they are etc.
They are asking me why BLM ? they are brought up in a multicultural society, play basketball with black kids, there are morrocans in their school etc.
They did not see these differences before and it just seems to be widening the gap! They are now questioning whether they have equal rights.

Perfectly wide awake, and have a functioning brain, which perhaps one day you might experience.

What's this 'everything' I've got wrong? Dying to hear this one.

Yes, many land grabs & massacres by the US Army. Are you trying to suggest they are the only army responsible for such acts? You don't need to do much checking to realise that the British military has done far, far more. It's had a lot more years to do it, & did. Other countries are equally as culpable. So what are you trying to say, exactly?

Never heard of the Waitangi Tribunal, but a quick look tells me that it's still running, & it has been since 1975. It is not a legal body, so cannot make legal rulings. It can only come up with recommendations, which are often ignored by the Government. So surprise, surprise, you know a little & think you know it all, or deliberately omit the rather important parts that don't suit your personal narrative. The Tribunal most certainly is not an agreement that pays out each year. You confuse the Tribunal with the NZ Government.

I think you're trying to say that all is well with the Maoris in New Zealand because of this Tribunal, & everything is Hunky Dory with them? Really? Odd that, my mate lived there for a long number of years before move to Oz, & said otherwise. Same with the locals, Maoris & non-Maoris alike, that I spoke to in the 5 different places I've visited there. Perhaps you're a little out of touch. Perhaps a bit of White Privilege is showing? :emoticon-0105-wink: The collective Maori view I came away with was that:

"The white man thinks money fixes everything. It doesn't. They don't realise that our culture is being destroyed year on year, and money will never fix that".

Btw, for someone who's lived in NZ, I'm shocked by your lack of respect for the Maoris. You can't even spell their name right! A mauri is something quite, quite different. <doh>

No, quite wrong again. I've never claimed to be an expert in US history, but don't believe anything I stated was wrong.

Perhaps you being the expert can point out the error of my ways?

Won't hold my breath. I'm just hearing Chesh noise yet again.

I note that not one person has backed you up. That means that either you haven't asked anyone because you know you're wrong, or you have indeed asked someone & they've told you to fcuk off. This is not about opinion, it's an absolute fact that you posted what you posted. Which was that you clearly contradicted yourself & have spent countless hours spouting pish rather than taking the hit. Not for the first time.

And I agree with the corrected version. It sums you up perfectly. <doh>
