To try and win over voters who are disillusioned with the ruling party. Most of the votes in GB and NI are whats known as "floating voters", they change sides depending on what they see as the best option at the time. I'm a conservative, and voted for them for the first time at the last election.
Two party system, both are lying and a vote for the lib dems is certainly a wasted vote so only option is to vote for the one you think is lying the least
I vote for the man who I think is the best man for the job. It's a pity that in NI we don't have a say in who gets into government in Westminister. We only get to vote on who represents NI.
Better than Labour were proposing. I read the labour manifesto, and there wasn't much talk about cuts, it was actually the opposite. Do they really think that in these times of economic crisis, an increase in public expenditure is a good idea?

I didn't see the speech, but everything I've read about it just sounds like crowd pleasing bullshit. They're right about not cutting spending too much though, and also the Tories are going to **** the NHS up. But all the talk of 'rewarding' the right people and changing the values of our economy doesn't mean anything. I'd have been a lot happier with D. Milliband in charge, Ed looks way out of his depth every time I've seen him speak, he's also got a very annoying voice. Not leader material
I didn't bother voting in the local elections, as i think i'm the only person in my town who votes conservative. It's a massive Labour town, they've had the seat for years. Wales is run by Labour, a major factor in my decision to try and move to England.
If spent properly then yes it is, the economy needs a kick up the arse and if the money goes in the right places it creates jobs. If it's English companies that are being employed, and they're paying their taxes, then it's helpful in the long run.
The country has a mountain of debt and to get out of debt they must cut spending, that is common sense. The fact still remains that the public sector could do more with less if they only improved efficiency but instead they want to continue with unsustainable levels of spending.
I can see David being a decent opposition leader, he's far more charismatic than Ed, and the floating voters would take to him far easier than they do with Ed. As a tory supporter, i admit, as usual, the tories have ballsed up the NHS, but in other areas, they're doing a far better job than Labour could possibly manage. Apart from education, the sooner Gove gets fired, the better.
