I do not have a problem with Forsyth, I think he will come good in the same way that Cowie did. It seems to take time for players to adjust to the championship. I am sorry to say that I missed his goal due to an uncooperative cork in a fresh bottle. BB, I anticipate a quiet night now, especially on the WO site. They really only come out when the results go against us.
Still no net bit great result well happy Tevez refused to come on as sub! guys that iam playing chess with apologies for delay
It wasn't you Frenchie. Others weren't too supportive of Forsyth. I agree, he does remind me a bit of Cowie.
Absolutely buzzing! Garner was great, played very well, if we didn't win it would have been very unfair. Can'y express how much I love Dickinson, will definitely be a fan favourite. COYH!!!
That's how we've been playing all season...much better than Saturday and we completely deserved the win. i can't name anyone that had a bad game, but plenty that played very well...hard to single any out but Mariappa and the back four were again very solid. Garner was great, except for one strange opportunity to score when he decided to pass instead. All in all a great night, though for a long time we didn't look like we were ever going to score...and i truly thought that another team were going to get 3 points undeservedly from us. Bring on Southampton..i'm sooo excited now!
You may have done your bit H, I was only reporting the comments of Jon Marks and Stephen McGinn. Earlier on I did say that I thought there was noise in the ground from the Watford fans, and later after they scored the Millwall ones. Having said that, Dyche thought that our fans were great tonight. I could be misled quite easily by where the effects mics are placed.
I know M Frenchie ....i didn't think for a minute those comments came from you...and i saw your comments earlier We also gave a good cheer and applause for Kenny Jacket when the Millwall fans were singing "there's only one Kenny Jacket" i missed Dyche's comments but i expect he was happy lol.
Gilmartin poor - no confidence in the box. Loach will be back next game. Doyley had a shocker. Maybe times up for Lloydinho. We were the best team. Good atmosphere tonight!!
This is so frustrating ! i had a stream set to go and net went down due to roadworks in the new estate over the road! so pleased things went better was swearing at telly whe
I wish tonight's match was televised. Not so that our glory-hunting collegues can see how good we are, but to give the rest of you guys a more accurate picture of what we've been watching at home this season. In honesty, there wasn't all that much more quality tonight than Saturday. The bigger difference was instead of having four men clearly looking to make something happen in the final third (two full backs at that), we had eight or nine tonight. Forsyth was again in the right places at the right times but also offered more out wide tonight, Hogg and Garner stepped up their work rates beyond recognition. I'll whisper this, but Eustace and Taylor also stepped it up a gear.
The only real disappointment tonight, now i think about it...was Sordell. hmm...maybe i shouldn't say it. i'll probably get shot down in flames lol...but he can't help getting caught offside and it's very frustrating when he doesn't chase stray balls..but...he was troubling the keeper a little bit for goal kicks...but really...i think we expect more, though i'm not sure it's fair to. Dilemma!
He's offside too often, but at least it's not out of sheer bone-idleness. Very easy to forget just how young Marv still is.
Not a pretty performance but I'd say we deserved to win and is what matters. Just need more confidence when attacking as there are signs we could look dangerous and the 2 goals proved we can shoot well. Seems like a strange goal to give away..about the only time Millwall stepped into our penalty area. Again defence was good generally and Gilmartin ok apart from one or two shaky moments from set plays. Bit worrying that Sordell looked uninterested. Anyway we got the win and nice to see us come back from behind for once.
I think what you are saying NNW is that the team was geed up a bit. I am not sure that we have too much quality in the team, but if they collectively can produce results then there is some hope. Jon Marks said early on that he thought we were good enough to avoid the drop, but it would be a season of grinding out results rather than pure flowing football.
More or less, but I think geed up is the wrong way around. More accurate is to say that half the team weren't their typical selves against Forest. On Saturday only Yeates, Sordell, the full backs and Mariappa looked bothered for more than five minutes. That's uncharacteristic of the others.
I think OFH has it right--there is not much quality in the team, especially when it comes to scoring goals, but when they collectively raise the pace and press the opposition, then they can get a result. The two goals we scored were from harder chances than some we missed, and the second owed a lot to a lucky rebound. The defence looks competent most of the time, but also likely to make at least one major mistake per game, which will cost us points when we are not a free scoring side. Forsyth looks more like Priskin with every game--tall, skinny and off-side. Three vital points, but in truth Millwall showed little going forward--one attack, one goal. Yes, Sordell did look semi-detached. Has playing for England and hearing what wages his U-21 colleagues get made him discontent? Come on Marvin--if you want a big money move you have to earn it. Buy if we can keep on getting 7 points from each group of 5 games, that is survival mode.
