Racist? Really? Such an over-used word - and in this case, no more true than for any football club or organisation. I think the word you're groping for is sectarian. Go look it up. You clearly know fcuk all about the sectarian situation, and it's evident in your first sentence, when you fail to separate club from 'fans'. I might also add that Rangers have been penalised just last year for Sectarian behaviour. I don't believe Celtic have ever been faced with this.

I think the point the author is making is everyone knows that sectarianism is the main ingredient for the Celtic-Rangers rivalry and for years neither club did enough to address it, Celtic obviously did more by signing protestants but they are equally as guilty as Rangers for letting it fester for so long.
Again, are you speaking about the clubs, the fans, or the players? I would agree with you re. the 'fans', especially the majority who rarely attend church or even the football matches, for that matter! Honest! Loads of 'fans' are all talk. My eldest, by his definition, is a Rangers fan. I casually asked him who the manager was. No idea. Same for top scorer. In fact, he could only name 1 player. Loads of them are exactly the same - it's just tribalism at its worst. Schoolkids usually feel pressurised to align with one or the other. It doesn't help that in Scotland there are Catholic schools & non-denominational schools. The Catholic hierarchy insist on this! The other, most incredible thing, is that this is the same all over Scotland - it's not just a Glasgow thing. Loads of buses set out for old firm matches from every nook & cranny! Celtic & Newco Rangers try, but get nowhere. The players have always socialised together.

I'm not great on US history, but is it not the case that much of the land was actually purchased from the native Americans? The veracity of some purchases might be open to some scrutiny, right enough. I think some of the dodgier deals resulted in lands being handed back. Not at all sure about this, so thought I'd throw it open to someone who knows a damn sight more than me.
This nonsense of “stole the land” is an inflammatory phrase used around the world along with the misuse of the word “colonialism” to make an invalid point. Actually, not even worth responding to. In general though, history is littered with wars in which land was conquered and became that of the victor.
Interesting that an arbitrary statute of limitation appears to have been agreed by those who construct and enforce the group think, though what basis was used to determine exactly when this should apply from who knows ? I would be inclined to include in the conversation the 400 years of Roman enslavement, Saxon assimilation and slavery, the Norman feudal system, serfdom (which was only removed after the Black death had done much of the removing), tythed workers, all those glorious opportunities that those dark satanic mills and conscription for 2 world wars presented to all those that carry that other construct of the terminally guilt ridden, 'white privilege'.
