Pathetic, demeaning, and perfectly suitable for Starmer and co
I would tell anyone who asked me to do that where to go.
I see Burnley want to impose a lifetime ban on the people who flew the WLM banner over the Etihad.
Assuming it was actually Burnley fans or season ticket holders, it will be interesting to see if they are identified and then it the ban stands up in court if it's legally challenged as I would employ a lawyer if it was me.
Personally I think Burnley have been way too quick to criticise this tiny thing and they won't have a leg to stand on.

don't have to commit an offence for clubs to ban people and the police can chuck it to the civil court where no offence is needed to put all kinds of restrictions on people because they might commit an offence or their prescience could!!

It just makes Burnley look like overbearing bullies in my humble opinion. And I would still legally challenge it if it were me.

Don't think you can can you? It's a private property, they have every right to ban whoever they like.

That being said I totally disagree with it if they do ban them.

That's fine providing they then ban all Burnley fans who wear BLM shirts or attend parades, demonstrations etc, because it's exactly the same thing and equality goes both ways. :emoticon-0148-yes:

In your opinion. In my opinion, it's very different, and not hard to see why.

If someone is raising money for food for Ethiopians, or for the famine in Yemen, would you go over and complain, and start shouting 'but what about us?!'? You'd sound ridiculous. Same point goes here.

This has been done to death, just wanted to talk more about the news surrounding it to be honest. As it goes I've already said I completely agree with you on the banning. They really shouldn't be banning anyone for something like that.

It's more of the way people have gone about it on all sides tbh.
As I've put on another thread, I think Burnley FC have made themselves look like idiots for what they've come out and said, and what they intend to do about it. Their PR person needs some education I think

There's probably a mix of that, and also wanting to jump on the bandwagon of companies seen to be doing the 'right' thing, and also being scared of doing the 'wrong' thing!

Swap right and wrong there depending on your views of course.

Not quite the same is it? That's lack of HUMAN RIGHTS ...I don't see Ethiopians or people from Yemen going around our Cities vandalising our statues, terrorising and injuring our police and putting everyone's lives at risk during a pandemic.

Burnley have done exactly the right thing. Its an offensive banner designed to stir up racial prejudices and anyone who thinks any different should wake up. You only need to the see the reaction of Robbie Earl to this banner to see the distress this has caused

Who is it offending ? It's a simple, polite, and 100% correct statement.

But you're obviously looking at this from the BLM angle only which itself has caused this minor and inoffensive retaliation by stirring up racial prejudices the other way, Presumably you think that's ok and is quite acceptable ?

Sorry, but you can't have it as just one way traffic. It's all or nothing and I would seriously suggest that the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Raheem Sterling and anyone else who is calling foul, to take a good hard look at themselves and realise where and how their tens of millions of pounds that they earn in sponsorships is created.

So I look forward to them denouncing them all even if it means they are out of work from now on.

Have you seen the Robbie Earle interview to see who it is offending? Why not? Its been all one way up to now? Because the direction of traffic has turned people are beginning to show their true colours. And its not black

Stirring up racial prejudice is illegal. No criminal proceedings are going to take place v the individual responsible.

Offence is everywhere. Its not illegal. Offence is part of life. If offence is to be policed who are to be its arbiters? The left? The right? Football clubs?

Distress .. I work in one service where people died of Covid-19 and people were treated in ICU. BLM protests by breaking Covid-19 control guidelines caused offence and distress to service users and staff and relatives of those being cared for.

    You're missing the point

It's offending everyone, and it's about time they put a stop to it.

    Welcome to Black Lives Matter.

In attempting to prove me wrong you've actually just accidentally proven the point of the entire movement.

Oh right well, if that's the case, I'm allowed to go around destroying what I like and harming the odd policeman when I see one....Oh and spread a bit of Covid 19 while I'm at it ...
Not sure that was my point......... ALM

Nope. No you're not allowed to do that. And 99% of people will not condone that.

Mate, what you have done in the past few pages is take the worst that has happened at all these protests, then in your head you have extrapolated that viewpoint to everyone, as if every person who supports BLM has that same view. They don't. The idea that supporting BLM then automatically means supporting assaulting policemen and destroying everything exists only in your imagination.

So when you then say that supporting BLM then means supporting smashing it up everything, it's complete rubbish really isn't it? Because very few people actually support that.

Please stop doing it because it is not only complete fantasy, but it makes your arguments redundant. And it's usually good debating with you!

I see Cummings is about to rearrange the entire civil service.
Whilst this may be necessary to a point (I don’t know - I’m not close to it), I’m extremely concerned that elected politicians are being increasingly excluded from big government decision making and that unelected bully is running the country.
Someone needs to put a leash on him pdq - he’s a very dangerous man.
