Absolutely - a progression of Bruce - Poch - Nagelsmann would be what we'll see. It'll be steered by a senior exec committee, the likes of which are alien to us and the Charnley/Barnes axis of evil. Bruce can stay til things look steady and in place. It will then become transparent he's not useful in bringing bigger names to the club, and we'll move on to a bigger name. Poch, I think, will stay available until that time comes but there'll always be plenty of decent options for an ambitious club so if it's not ACTUALLY Poch, it'll be someone like him; project led, which will pave the way for our version of Guardiola - Nagelsman is one name, Simeone another, but next-level. Assuming this ****ing takeover ever happens.
I am in the not happening camp I have to say. I think we will be still talking about Bruce and Ashley this time next year.
Nearly a year ago now fs but I seem to remember Bruce's first game against Arsenal and to all and sundry he hadn't a clue about his players positions etc especially when he made subs which led me to believe he hadn't a say in anyone brought into the club at that time.
I'm not gonna lie. I have thoroughly enjoyed Bruce putting Rafa's time in perspective, and a few of our fans in their place. I kinda knew it would happen because there was undoubtedly a delusional view of Rafa's time. We were certain to go down, I was told I will see just what we lost in Rafa come halfway through the season, Bruce will never keep us up, etc etc. Now because he has proved them wrong, there's not a shred of humility, only excuses. Bruce is dining out on his defence, Bruce had loads of money to spend in comparison, Bruce has been lucky. You name it, they've wheeled out every excuse known to man. Some were still clinging to him not getting another point because his luck had ran out. One game, one win and 2 points from guaranteed safety with a home game tonight to seal it against a club we truly dislike. I was disappointed when he came in but fair play to the man, done a good job and just kept making certain fans look really silly every step of the way.
do i need more cans then? I have some for the match but if this is happening I feel I will need a ****-tonne more!
I agree,he's done a great job knowing full well his time could be up any day, wasn't happy when he got the job but that's Ashley for you!I was never a great fan of Rafa even though I met him for his first match in the Hilton(photo and all),a draw v them down the road, full of optimism then which lasted for a season and a half then it was a hard watch. If this takeover happens I wont be looking for instant success,I'll be happy with safe before Christmas,a cup run and enjoy the 2nd half of the season instead of ****ting it every year till March/April,that'll do for a few seasons.
Just imagine what the monthly photos would look like!? January.. Amanda looking seductive.. December.. A blonde lass, injecting heroin whilst sniffing toot and being rammed up the arse by a guy in a gimp mask! I'd buy one..!!
I was disappointed when Rafa left because I genuinely like the bloke and thought he was our best chance of staying up, even with obvious limitations and an unattractive football style. I was even more disappointed when we replaced him with Bruce as he just seemed completely the wrong man for the job and an extremely unambitious appointment. I fully expected us to struggle badly. I was wrong and he has done a more than decent job with the resources at his disposal and his stats match up to Rafa's. I don't think he would be the man to take us forward long term but at the same time I do hate the idea of someone being sacked when they have exceeded expectations.
