It'll be 4th July mate. Independence Day and the day the pubs re-open! Roly have you got that on your list of milestones to tick off before it's announced?

I've had to block him, mate. He sees things that just aren't there and he's becoming a Keys-level WUM. There's no way an intelligent person thinks the Saudi's said to the PL "if you'd only asked about piracy in the first place, we wouldn't be in this situation".

Pathetic. Like Delaney & Keys, he won't answer replies that don't suit - he'll cherry pick something he can argue with. And I'm not talking about the well-deserved abuse, he'll ignore the well-reasoned and articulate responses. It's why Twitter is such a cancerous place.

Exactly. It appears to be a dig at BEin more than anything. Edwards is trying to garner interest. Failing badly.

Pointed out yo him several times that his arguments are legally flawed. Surprise surprise, he doesn't respond.

You owe me a new calendar! I've crossed out and re-written 'Takeover Day' so many times it's unusable now!!

Edit: Second thoughts - I probably don't want one of your calendars hanging on my wall

Hard drugs arriving from dealer imminently, hookers ordered from a dodgy pimp, fireworks and pyros set up, stage in the back garden put up with whole day of bands scheduled, goats to be ritually sacrificed at midnight in praise of something going right.

If this party is for nothing then Chaos is paying the bill.

Nah, we should learn from the Man C one. They quickly disposed of Hughes after 1 season when they realised he wasn't going to help. They wheeled in Mancini to play a more progressive style, moved to Pellegrini, and then eventually to the top echelon with Pep. The common theme though was a progressive modern style of play. It is quite clever when you look at it retrospectively. I think we will see this group take a similar approach, a long term strategy unaffected by media, fans or outside influences.

I've got nothing against Rafa or Bruce. Very similar approaches, though you'd have to think Rafa would do better with money. Before anyone says yes I know we don't know because British managers never get the chance. But in a competitive world, reality is that the foreign managers have more experience of dealing with the vast sums of the PL because they have had the chance.

My problem is at every club bar Napoli and Real Madrid (a lot of players already there - some of it taken out of his hands too), the rebuild job following Rafa is massive because he has his own style, and thus buys players to fit his defensive brand. Not many other managers would keep a lot of their players. Its quite impressive really because he has a knack of getting average players able to play at the highest level. Many fall back down the levels once he leaves them. He actually struggles more with the big names.

Why would we create a situation where we have to go back to square one when he's finished? It seems like both poor football and business sense. I have no doubt Rafa could quickly get us hovering around 7th-8th place which will be the first stepping stone. But I think following him will be like starting again. I don't know what Rafa would bring? We already have the legacy of his defensive coaching supposedly <laugh>. Perhaps if someone else was buying the players, but then his toys are usually out the pram pretty quick, and its not really fair to not have synergy between DOF and Manager.

For a while I thought Rafa was a good fit initially despite hating his style of football. The more I've thought about it, the less I like the idea. I don't see why we'd hamper ourselves by picking someone whose work will have to be dismantled after, I don't like his style of football, I am not that keen on the man himself (he's a proper little whingey bitch), and i'd be concerned that he always falls out with owners everywhere (he might end up with his hands chopped off).

I personally think Pochettino is ideal in many ways. Not over the long term, but in terms of instilling a progressive modern style throughout the club, getting the youth system set up, knowing the league, I just think he ticks a lot more boxes than Rafa. I also think we could look to Germany where there is a high standard of coaches and they all play similar modern styles. Julian Nagelsmann would be one such man of interest.

If you'd let us know in advance that you were publishing a book we could have arranged a press release!

You would be correct Mick somewhat - Bruce joined in mid July. Certainly Joelinton was a done deal before he arrived, he signed on less than a week later. Looking at how they spent £40m of it, he must be ****ing cursing them! I think the money hindered him in some ways <laugh>

He'll have had more input in the like of ASM and Willems etc. Its still down to scouting teams regardless, I'm never sure why fans are obsessed with what each manager spent etc. Its irrelevant in some ways. What should be assessed is what standard the squad was under each manager and how they managed them. Bruce and Rafa had very similar resources to work with overall - Rafa had better strikers, but its been countered by the emergence of ASM and Almiron. They performed to a similar level in terms of how they managed them (so far). Bruce probably slightly ahead at the mo.

The idea that Bruce was in a better position squad wise due to money is just laughable. Its even more hilarious when some of those suggesting it, were the same ones whining that we were considerably worse because we'd lost Rondon/Perez and would be certain to go down. Its almost like they keep moving the goalposts to suit their assertions.

I forgot you were just up from a chimp in terms of development.

Short version - Rafa and Bruce are a bad fit. We will have money, use it to get the best fit and with the long term in mind. Try to be modern and progressive in style for first time in 20 years.
