Right off to bed now, to get over the shock of a home win and to nurse the blisters on my typing fingers. ;)

    See you tomorrow sometime. <ok>

    Morning All
Mrs GG and I are off for a few days in the sunshine by the sea- holiday!! The best possible send off after learning the score from last night (went to bed at 9.30 in total blissful ignorance).
    Me one happy bunny.
Back for the weekend to see the rugby, and to see if I can regain top spot in the prediction league. Have a great time in Southampton, everyone.

Good day all, Doesn't life seem better now that we have got that monkey off our back.

I promised to take two of my grandsons to a match at the Vic, so knowing that we would be over for the Palace game worked on the arrangements for that. One of them had already been lined up to do something else that day, but the other one was very keen and his Dad agreed to come up from Gloucester and join in. The only thing is that to keep the promise I have to come over again in order to take the second one, so will have to see what games are at home around Christmas time.

It seems as if the ticket office does know who I am now and the tickets have been booked. Now it is a case of can the Royal Mail and La Poste get their act together and deliver the tickets before we come over?

Afternoon all, bit of a mixed day yesterday for the Sandy household...

Good news - First home win of the season and to come back from a goal down shows the team does have the right mentality for what is going to be a tough season.

Bad news - My son (2 year old) had an assessment with the pediatrician regarding his development and he's confirmed that he is on the Autism Spectrum :( . Looks like he many not be playing for Watford after all :(:(:(. He's such a happy boy so it's not too upsetting at the moment. I am pleased that this has been recognised at such a young age and he is being referred to all the right people.

Good news - Went to the gym at 06:10 yesterday morning and felt great afterwards.

Bad news - Dreaded lurgy going round work and home caught up with me in the afternoon and I'm going downhill fast with it :emoticon-0107-sweat

Can't wait to see what the rest of the day brings???

Great to see you Sandy, sorry to hear your bad news. i have had a fair amount of dealings with Autism and know some very helpful people to talk to if ever you need to speak to someone who understands what you're going through. Just PM me whenever the desire arises...if it should. Be assured it's not a huge negative and as you've caught it so young, hopefully with the right care, advice and help, his life can be as he'd wish it to be (though perhaps without playing for Watford ;). Good thoughts winging your way.

Ouch about the lurgy, you're supposed to avoid those, bad man! ;) Hope you feel better soon :)

Thanks H appreciate that. It's strange but it's almost like it was meant to be that way.

The first thing they will be arranging is for him to see a speak therapist and one of my friends had just told me a family member is a top specialist in this field. The school my daughter goes to has just had a new section built onto it and it is for autistic children. And finally my mother in law does a bit of part time gardening for a lady who is.........yes you've guessed it an Autism specialist.

So when I look back on things, it looks like everything has slowly been set in place for us without us even knowing about it.

    Afternoon all

Beautiful sunny day here. Out to cut the grass in a mo (or should it be mow?)....

Very very happy with the result last night if not the nerve-racking experience of watching it. Mariappa was excellent again; Eustace, Hogg, Yeates and Garner better than on Saturday; Taylor less authoritative and more uncertain than last year; Sordell not having one of his better days...and Dickenson and Forsyth looking fairly anonymous but coming up with the goals. For once we had the run of the ball towards the end and I think we might need it on Saturday.

My 13 year old son has Asperger's and we had a nightmare getting it confirmed. What sped the process up is that my ex-wife is a Cub leader and as someone high-up in Scouting on the island was also high-up in Autism Jersey, the SPELL training was provided for all leaders if they wanted. Our very next appointment, she went in and said to the psychologists "I've done the SPELL training and he has Asperger's". The very next appointment they confirmed it and we'd been going backwards and forwards for more than 2 years. It was just in time for him to get into a secondary school with a special unit. If he'd gone to the same school as his brother I think we would've had major problems. It's done him so much good, he's going to lessons in subjects they said that he wouldn't be doing when he first started at the school. Glad for you (and him) it's been caught so early as whenever my son had an episode at primary school, they couldn't cope and sent him home. My poor ex-wife had to quit her job and hasn't been able to find work since.
Earlier this year, my ex-wife said that she thought I've got AS and has thought as such since our son was diagnosed (it only took her just over 2 years to tell me). I mentioned this to a colleague who thought exactly the same thing but hadn't mentioned it as she thought that it would've been looked at when I was younger. I've done all the assessments, just waiting for the appointment where I get told yes or no to come through.

I would strongly advise that you take advantage of H's offer as when we've needed something similar, there seems to be very little support available on the island.

that's all wonderful...when faced with a problem like this, it's always better to deal with when there are people in the know close by. That's very good news Sandy :)...remember though, it's not just your son that needs support...if ever you need to unload, you know where i am :).
