I have asked the question a few times, and if I got an answer i've forgotten. I suppose just like any other business if it's running at a loss and the debts are increasing they would be entitled to close it down.
Yes the most money would be owed to Allamhouse, they claim 50 million is owed to them. (creative accounting) Does anyone really know how much has been given to Hull City compared to how much they have actually taken out in laymans terms?

Wolverhampton Wanderers are a far bigger club then Hull City. More assets, own ground, far bigger fan base and a fabulous tradition of trophies and big sustained support behind them. They were a steal. No comparison at all to Hull City.

Steve Bruce spent £80m. By far the biggest investment in the clubs history. Hundred times and more then all the previous owners in the club history lumped together. He wanted to be away, as he has at every club he has ever managed. Having said that I was gutted when he left.

Honest question, as I have no idea, but did the club sell the players Bruce bought for that £80m for a loss or a profit?

I believe he made 46 signings in total but that includes loans. I don't know if the 80 mill includes loan fees?

I was answering the post that said Bruce had no investment when the truth is just the opposite.

The comparison was in your post that Wolves were sold as a Championship club when some one said City would attract a buyer in the same league.

If Alex hadn't gotten injured we'd have been FA cup winners. Makes you think.......

I was just pointing out that they weren’t sold as a League One club, I was making no point at all, other than the poster had made a mistake.

Not only the players, two promotions to the premier league. I remember one of them (maybe both) was billed as the most valuable game in the world? over 100 million to the winners. and the FA cup final although I know there's not so much money in that. Increased ticket sales because we were in the premier league, more merchandise sales.

All 46 ? News to me.
He is still at the top of my list of best ever Hull City managers despite that.
He made some magnificent signings for the club and some not so magnificent. The cost of that was unsustainable once we dropped out of the Premier League.

Perhaps he never, so I did. Not all of Bruces signings made the grade, what's wrong with pointing that out ?
As a supporter I loved Bruce's reign as manager. I also remember he wasn't exactly flavour of the month with a lot of our support at the time and remember several verbal slanging matches in the East Stand with fellow fans who wanted him sacked.

If overall the player sales made a profit it doesn't mater if a percentage of signings didn't work out it still should fit the Allams "model" of buying cheap and selling high.

Also Bruce left us AFTER he'd got us promoted again. Not many mangers of Championship clubs quit once they've achieved promotion. I liked Bruce and Adkins they knew the owners didn't understand football IMHO.

How can you say the Allams model at the time was buying cheap and selling high when we broke, no smashed to smithereens our transfer record under them ? Have you forgotten the days when Peter Swan held our transfer record for nearly 25 years ?
Also Bruce wanted to be away when we were relegated from the PL. It was the Allams who persuaded him to stay another season, and backed him in the transfer market. As it happened it paid off and we were promoted again but he still wanted to be away.
The reasons for which will no doubt be published one day but there are always two sides to every story, faults and plusses on both sides.
