Going into this summer with a strong finish in the league will make a massive difference. We know that we are going to lose out on some of our long term loan mistakes, but at least we will be an attractive proposition for recruitment & contract renewals. Plenty of other basket case clubs out there right now. We may well start to look like a good option.
I didn't think I missed football. But we are back. One win under our belt and we could be challenging for Champions League and if we have one loss and we are doomed to relegation
I went into the game thinking that if we lose this, the unthinkable would just start to rear it's head. Especially as a few sides below us could realistically pick up points today. I ended the game cursing our immediate pre-lockdown spell, with those bad defeats to Newcastle, West Ham and Burnley. Even with our bad August to November, just turning those three defeats into wins would have placed sitting in a (provisional 5th) CL place (for about two hours).
Christ - he is thirty already! I remember him as a mere nipper fresh faced and looking too thin for his kit but a few seasons ago... time is passing by too quickly. £2M is a steal - especially when you look at the dross we bought 8 to 10 times that number in recent seasons..
Has looked finished to me when at Everton. Maybe just needs a fresh start somewhere or maybe there is more to it. Wouldn’t have him back tbh, think it would taint the memories of the good years if he continues at the same level he has been playing for the last few seasons
Saints are said to be interested in signing Axel Disasi a 22 year old central defender from Stade Reims, not the first time this has been mentioned and Arsenal & Wolves have also been linked to the player who is entering the last year of his contract at the French club. Now L'Equipe sports paper in France reports that Saints have been in negotiations for the player for "several weeks" and are willing to meet Stade Reims €15 valuation, just over £13,5 million at the current exchange rate.
Cover for Valery i hope. Valery scares me to death when he plays but will improve. If KWP isn't a preferred signing then i wouldn't expect him to play much.
Both Valery and Bednarek scare me to death when they have the ball at their feet, especially when being closed down. The two best opportunities for Norwich, in the second half, were as a result of misplaced passes, one from each of them. Actually I think the giveaway pass from Bednarek came when he was under no pressure. Passing isn’t his strongest point, but I still prefer him in the team to the other alternatives.
