I blame Bentley for the 2nd.
The first is a nightmare for a keeper from a brilliantly delivered cross and the 3rd was great shot.
More of a concern is our players in midfield. Not sure any of them would get in another championship side in the top half.
I don't watch much but our set up and substitutions didn't make much sense.
I think LJ has so many players he ends up overthinking the game.

I will disagree. The defenders dropped. Their line was deep. If you drop that deep you have to defend the first ball. The defenders have to control that space. If they are not there to head it there is no point being so deep = Get up.

Again its a principle of defending. What is it? Drop off into depth and compactness. Its the Managers preference.

I believe Maenpa would have saved it. I know we’ll never know , I just think Bentley doesn’t give confidence to the defenders in front of him which in turn makes them less decisive, the goalkeeper can see things that defenders can’t and should take control in those circumstances, he doesn’t deal well with crosses , he does palm shots into dangerous areas , those things create an air of uncertainty in defenders minds which leads to the kind of errors which lead to the first goal.

City are defending crosses from outside the box (not wide) with centre backs positioning themselves in extreme deep positions just outside the six yard box. It is zonal defending. The players are not marking man for man they were taking zones. Those centre backs could have headed that ball. Easily. It had to be headed away because If they are not there to head it in their zones what are they there to do?

The error comes from a tactical decision. If these players were youths and kids its understandable, maybe it was not being up to speed but the error comes from a tactical decision. To be that deep normally has to come from coaching instruction. Confidence comes from good instruction. Understanding what you have to do.

When you digest the results of yesterday there was a good smattering of helpful results BRENTFORD beating Fulham has maybe put paid to Fulham's auto prospect … Derby beating Millwall a help a big help …. Luton of course A MASSIVE ONE but now means PNE have a 2pt bridge …. Sheffield draw holds Florest in check … it now becomes tight … I think a 6 point gap with 5 to play will determine the likely final table .. 7 with 7 to play [ after next round of games ]
a win or draw for LEEDS BEST RESULT TO EXPECT v Cardiff

The first goal was Bentleys fault, as in he should of done what 99% of keepers should and would of done was call for the ball. The ball didn’t come in at pace so it was in his line of sight, so he could see the flight and then shout for it.

The other mistake was Jack Hunt (2nd or 3rd goal) stretching for that miss placed cross field from Patterson when no other city player around him. Should of let it go out for a throw and allow to regroup.

As for the disallowed goal I could not really see what was wrong with it other than breaking social distancing rules that most now apply???

CB's got out of the way of the ball. Maybe for the first they got a call?? but if your stood behind the penalty spot or in the six yard box surely you don't let it go. whats the most important thing on the pitch? the ball. what are you?? an ugly centre back? what do you do?? I head it with my ugly head and kick it away from goal. so next time put your ****ing ugly head on it!!!

Just watched the highlights. Their keeper wasn't brilliant for our goal either.
Not a good result for us in Cardiff.

You mean like Frankie Fielding was, yet was hammered on here for his poor distribution....

    For me it was Eliasson.
Skinned their left-back a number of times but nobody on the end of his cross.
He puts goals on a plate for the right centre-forward.
Sadly I don’t think he will be playing for us next season.

Why he was replaced is a mystery. For me he was the only threat we had.

Fielding good on crosses? He barely left his line as he had Flint then Webster in front of him. if Flint was in the team yesterday he heads that clear!!! his distribution was beyond poor!!

I loved Frankie , i wouldn’t say he was great at dealing with crosses , he usually let Flint deal with them , but was a much better shot stopper than Bentley. Personally I prefer Maenpa to Bentley I think he’s more of an all rounder and seems to inspire more confidence in the defence.

Funny how we all see things differently, I didn't mind Frankie, thought he was decent..As you say, very good shot stopper but was poor with his distribution, but hey, so was Basso, but most loved him......seems the game has changed (Not necessarily for the better) but keepers now need to have Hoddle skills along with shot stopping to be classified as decent!!

To win games, teams need to score goals, to score goals teams need to create chances, we scored one goal through a goalkeeper howler, apart from that we created absolutely zip, zero chances.

Our midfield is beyond poor and the midfield selected on Saturday is worse than beyond poor.

Take Eliasson out of the equation and that midfield between have a grand total of 2 assists ALL SEASON Paterson 1, Massengo 0, Smith 0 and Odowda 1, that is pathetic.

Johnson cannot handle big players so Henrickson has gone and Nagy is nowhere to be seen, Palmer who actually has 3 assists to his name is nearly always on the naughty step.

That is 8 games without a win and the excuses are the same as they have been for 3 seasons now during our annual run in meltdown, 'they were great in training', 'we gave them all of the tools (it wasn't my fault) and not forgetting 'I will have to look at the players I can trust', so who has he been selecting for the past 8 games?.

I feel sorry for Wells a proven goalscorer at championship level and he has had 2 chances created for him since he arrived both duly scored, he must be regretting his move big style.

Said it ages ago. Makes too many mistakes and his judgement is also very questionable.

Can I suggest that you take a look at the goals again? definite goalkeeping mistake for the first goal, that is goalkeepers ball all day long and lest we forget they had a perfectly good goal disallowed when he dropped a simple cross.

The 2nd goal we had at one stage 3 so called midfielders following the ball instead of doing their jobs of marking unmarked players and one of those players scored, absolutely nothing to do with defenders it was another midfield failing and for the 3rd goal bearing in mind we were only 1 goal behind with 20 minutes to go, our complete midfield unit (actually an insult to midfield units) were caught out ahead of the ball, leaving 2 defenders against 3 breaking attackers, something that has been happening to us for 3 seasons.

To blame the defence is overlooking the true problem, I can recall at least 5 last ditch tackles/blocks by defenders that could have made the scoreline even more embarrassing, including one terrific block late on by Kalas.

The truth is Johnson set up not to lose with a powder puff midfield against possibly the most physical side in the championship and they mullered us all game and easily deserved to win, ergo his fault.

Afobe and Wells must have been sat on the bench thinking, give me just one of those crosses.... Fammy just doesn't get in the right place often enough, or convert enough chances when they come along. Hoping we some big changes next week.

I don't understand his persistence with CoD, he has looked disinterested for about 18 months now. Time for him to move on and allow us to get someone in who is interested.
