Well, I managed to listen to the last 20 minutes on my phone whilst in bed. The 6:30am start was a bit too early for me, unfortunately.

We were unlucky not to score earlier then thank god we came back at the end. Was Dawson's goal a scissor kick or overhead? I think it was the former.

Despite their goal being a cracker Mapps was no where near him!

I guess it is a point earned.

Today's game was a tough one on paper so I am happy with the point to be honest.

    Onwards and hopefully upwards.

Every other result went our way apart from the ridiculous point for Villa on Weds
We are a point clear clear and have the best goal difference in the bottom 5
It is in our hands now for the first time this season and with Pearson in charge we should be ok

    As I see it.

    Norwich are shot.
Villa have a bit of a shout.
Muff and West Ham don't seem to have much fight.
We do and that might be the saving grace.
Brighton's result today will do them the world of good.

Still, a long way to go.

Brighton have a very tough run in they needed that win to keep them clear
Lets hope Arsenal put up the same amount of fight when we play them

At least now we have a chance before we seemed dead and buried.

West Ham v Villa on the final day might be the key.

Chillwell was rubbish until they brought Gray on who seemed to link up well with him and we made a few changes which affected us.

Guess Mariappa was caught in two minds - usually better in the middle where he can block a shot rather than chase a full back who is quicker.

Although Capoue and Docoure weren't great they could hold the midfield bettter - Hughes was very good though.

They seemed to get on top once Sarr went out of the game near the end so we had no outlet in attack.

Did Welbeck touch the ball at all?

Back 2 had Vardy in their pockets all game.

Subject to Chelsea turning up at Villa we have improved our position by one point and one position. I actually thought we would initially drop into bottom 3 during these first 2 rounds of matches.

Pearson worked Deeney through 90 minutes which can only be good for all. Did Sarr twist his ankle late on when he stepped on the ball? Think he was just tired.

Can Deeney keep this up though?

Dawson on his first goal for Watford - "Once you score a goal you want to go and celebrate with the fans. You end up running towards the corner and it's a little bit strange that there's no fans here. Hopefully they have enjoyed it at home"

Very pleased for him... he looked poor when he came but he is such a key player for us now

Doubtful, but I suspect he would be willing to try. Our problem is that we lack a replacement of similar calibre. Gray certainly isn't the answer, and neither is Welbeck - aside from those two, who else is there?
Possibly his 90 minutes on Saturday was to lift his fitness up after missing a week of training - and the plan is to give him an hour or so in each of the remaining matches?

Ironically, his goal was very reminiscent of one scored by the man he replaced - Cathcart. I can't remember who it was that he scored his against though...

i agree.... and wondered if there may be matches where players are rested.... difficult one as we win more with TD and lose more without him

I have to say that the skill shown by the Leicester goal was excellent. The winger saw the player in space who signaled for it and he got a pin point long pass to his feet which he controlled with ease just before lashing into the net.
