For those who are - Happy Father's Day - far better than celebrating your own birthday ! For those who are not fathers but wish to be - I'm sure you realize there are a number of crucial steps to fulfill before you're entitled to celebrate your own. What's stopping you ? Anyway - yesterday the BBC 4 channel repeated the following music show of songs about fathers. It's on BBC iPlayer for the next month - so worth a shufti for nostalgia's sake. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b02yhsb6 Not played, but one of my favourite song's about dads... Can even celebrate Grandpa's day given the logical path...
Another one of my favourite tracks - I imagine it's on the BBC documentary I posted (I haven't gone through it yet), but regardless, it merits it's own posting
Two of my favourite Father/Son songs are Mike and the Mechanics - The Living Years, and more recently The Lake Poets - Shipyards which was the introductory song for the "Sunderland Till I Die" Netflix series. Both very sad and beautiful. Maybe they are in the BBC Fathers Day program.
Thanks - had never heard of them - always good to hear about Hull talent. Haven't been back for over 6 years - now doesn't seem to be the right time sadly !
I detect some renegade is trying to chip away at the male bastion that is "Father's Day". Mods - please quell this insurrection ! It's a distateful rebellion !
