You have to feel just a tad sorry for Pool, this was meant to be their (and var`s) big moment, and now they may well complete the winning of their faux league title in a neutral venue, with nobody watching, and after playing a game of imitation football. The shine has been completely taken off it, even though it is not now really a totally legitimate competition. Professional cricket has been delayed until at least August, yet PL football wants to resume mid June...... it is clear where the money is in all this.
Some suggestions that the Arsenal game will be at West Ham, and West Ham at Wembley - if we are playing the matches in London why move them?
Really sorry but how csn anyone claim integrity if home teams are not allowed to play at home? If we are not allowed to play the goons and West Ham at home then we are at a disadvantage...That goes for every other team in the same position of losing home advantage.
Don't forget the likelihood that any trophy celebration has a good chance of leading to a sudden spike in cases on Merseyside 2-3 weeks later
QPR chief executive Lee Hoos says the club is "appalled by" and "vehemently opposed to" the English Football League's plans for the Championship to return on 20 June. Hoos says there was "absolutely no consultation" on the matter, claiming clubs learned of the news just before it came out at 21:00 BST on Sunday. "I am absolutely stunned by this announcement," he added. No Championship fixtures have been played since 8 March. "Incredibly, there has been absolutely no consultation with individual clubs nor with the Championship doctors' working group by the divisional representatives - or anyone else in the Football League - regarding this matter," Hoos told the QPR website. "Having spoken with our director of football Les Ferdinand and our manager Mark Warburton, they share my views. We are vehemently opposed to this schedule."
Has anyone seen if the start date to next season has been announced (even provisionally?). With the Champions League resuming in August, I assume September is the earliest. They will also need to fit in qualifying rounds for Europe as well. It's hard to see how they'll do it? I saw that the Transfer window closes on 5th October - does that mean we start again after that, or have we gone back to having the window open while fixtures take place. So many questions!
I can answer one of those questions. It was decided to go back to window closing at the same time as the rest of Europe as 'they' felt it hadn't worked well with us closing earlier than the rest. Although 5th Oct is a new date. 6 Feb 2020 - Premier League clubs have voted for the transfer window to be moved back to 1 September to realign with Europe. Over the past two seasons, the window in England was shut the day before the opening day of the top flight season, while other leading European leagues mostly extended to the end of August.
