Will Hills do have him at 25s for next season. They probably have him at the same price for the Grand National and the Oaks too.
That run was too bad to be true. The horse was 65 lengths off the rest of the field at the back. Palmer said he was going with a "Gut feeling" in running him over 10F today and he must have sore guts now after watching that ****ty effort. I saw a headline that stated that Acquitted was out to advertise Palace Pier's chances but it is Fantasy Island trying to use a 93 rated horse running in an Ascot minefield Handicap as any guide to a horse who needs clear improvement anyway to hope of winning a Group 1 race. That's a quick road to the poorhouse. I would actually have been more concerned if Acquitted had run his race and been thereabouts but as it is he was on planet Zanussi out the back with his trainer's gut feeling looking more like the feeling he was getting in his gut was coming from having his head up his ass at the time. Hugo Palmer could offer no explanation to the Stewards for the poor effort but I doubt that the late Stephen Hawking could have got a handle on that puzzling effort. The horse will probably pop up at 33/1 later in the season.
