Leukemia-related, I think. Was diagnosed with it earlier in the year. Seemed like a nice, happy bloke. Surprised that he was only 66 though, as he seemed to have been around forever.
I think (with the hair loss) he looked older than he was.I mean at his peak (mid 80s) he will have been about 30. Looked older than that. Still, seemed a nice guy - funnier than a lot of the po-faced people that commentated on Snooker, so is sad.
Var doing it's best for you at villa park mate! They'll still bollocks it up though by letting the blades get a late winner.
Sorting through some old singles and found a very battered copy of this, takes me back to the old days with the old man and his mates hollering this out, Is that Maggie Blanchflower on backing vocal ?
'fraid not. I used to have this record though along with several others. I gave them away along with all my oldest programmes to a Spurs loving pal when I moved from London. I still have the 'specials' in my scrapbooks and a load of '80's programmes deemed to modern to give away at the time. They must be 40 years old now!
What about those fathers whose birthday falls on Fathers Day? ****ing typical...you get 2 special days a year and they manage to be the same ****ing day...
