Bit of a rush this, but Final Song has a chance in the 14:25 at Ascot under these conditions, if recovered from efforts LTO. But I will stop at a loser, best way! Edit: Ran OK but didn't see out the trip. Winner won well, and another for Jim Crowley. Now I will watch and enjoy!
Very poor from King Leonidas, can give him another chance back on decent ground and over further but expected a lot better than that. Wouldn't have bet the winner on the ground with 6 picks after his bad run behind military march on soft last season.
First Prophet looking much more professional pre race, hopefully that means he has learned plenty from the first run, looking like the money is down again and he could go off 2nd fav
The Chesham is a poor looking renewal. I never thought I would see a horse who was 5th last time and rated 79 on RPR being 5/2 favourite for the race. Beautifully bred but Battleground seems short here. I had a token bet Bright Devil, Andrew Balding has a habit of improving his 2YO horses a fair bit on their second start. In an open affair he was my pick at 6/1.
Another absolute shocker for me, can confirm I won't be posting pre race tomorrow. Tbh the ground really made the day a throwout, that's the danger of investing early, wouldn't have put anywhere near as much on knowing the ground, by chance it looks in favour of Technician. As I said the other day, it looks like the draw bias flipped as it often does on this course and high numbers now have zero chance. Have to back Declared Interest in the last now, I had her ruled out based on yesterdays draw bias but she now looks ideally placed.
