We’ve had to put up with most other teams fans saying things like “you spent £70m what you crying for” when actually we sold players for £80m and our net spend was ****ing -£10m. I think over the last years under Ashley our net spend on players was something like nil!
Interesting. Could be linked to the takeover. Maybe not. But I bet a lot of people make that connection.
I did work it out after the summer to something I think like he'd spent on average £6-8m per season since arriving. But the club posts profits nearly every year of 10's of millions sooooo
Yep and you think he will have made nearly £200m profit in his time here (if you don't include the debt he is selling with the club) while making some decent money off free advertising and selling off the land. Assume he pays himself something out of the club as well. Honestly kind of makes you think he has done pretty well (for himself not for the club)
No I’m not either. It’s possible Ashley has just been put under pressure from the PL god forbid they actually do something right.
Any profit the club generated is only extractable by him via dividends paid. (None) and his loan account (which Is just his initial loan to the club). I could explain the ins and outs but it was only this last two sets of accounts where the club actually Broke even and started building up p and l reserves. Having said that there has been some frankly odd expenses hitting the P&L over the years. Consultancy charges etc.
