The PL have ****ed NUFC over royally in this. There should be a petition launched to insist on a full, transparent independent review into how the PL is set up and being run. Werner is a prime example - he's a young lad, and cost just £53m. Could we have bid for him and enticed him with a decent project? Absolutely. I'm not saying we would have, but there aren't many Werner's doing the rounds. Honestly feels like the PL have it in for NUFC.
As we are being bought, supposedly, by a fund who's intentions are to make money, what makes people think we will be spending loads of cash?
Sheikh Mansour bought the club in 2008 for £210 million in a much publicised deal and the business at $4.8bn (£3.74bn), establishing it as one of the most valuable sports companies in the world.
things have changed since the city takeover. I'm not saying the aim isn't the same, but due to FFP it will be alot more difficult. I think it took them 3 years to get in the top 4 , so you can probably double that... also other clubs now have money, so again the task is far greater. I think they will spend, but until they get in a position in which they can we won't see any crazy money signings.
I think we will see a big boost early on mind. Don't confuse crazy money with crazy money by this lots idea of what crazy money is..
They spend on infrastructure and raise commercial revenues. Invest in youth teams and scouting networks. The value builds as you invest. The return is in the end product. Plus the club utilised properly with commercial deals generates exposure for their other business enterprises. So they use nufc to generate returns in their other business ventures.
Well one thing MA has done is pave the way for someone to spend in the early years and comply with FFP. We also have a very low wages to t/o ratio which is also positive.
If they were looking for a comparable return on their investment that would put us at a value 8.92 billion in 12 years time. Just for comparison that is more than Madrid and Barcelona are worth together today
let's be honest they will spend huge compared to what nufc fans have become accustomed to. it will be hundreds of millions over period of time..
