The EFL can confirm that 2213 players and Club staff from the 24 Championship Clubs were tested over the course of the past week with eight individuals testing positive from six Clubs.

City have already confirmed that none of the positive tests were ours.

Shouldn’t all those who have come into contact with them now be isolating?

    Exactly.
Why doesn't the 'track and trace' process apply to them?
    Ridiculous mixed messages.
Stuff like this, and the contract **** storm situation, is why the season should simply have been abandoned as null & void ..... (oh, and so that Leeds don't go up, we stay up, Liverpool don't win the PL #minordetail).

It doesn't apply to them because they're being tested twice a week, unlike the general population, who mostly aren't being tested at all.

But what use is the testing if a positive result doesn't have any consequence?

Ha. Of course you're the covid denier of the board. Comfortingly predictable.

Do you actually want Leeds to go up (and us to possibly go down)?!

It obviously has consequences, once a player tests positive, he's not allowed to train or play.

I'd rather we were going up and Leeds going down, but sadly, that's not something that I can control.

What about the other people they come inti contact with? And the people those people come into contact with. It’s irrelevant how many times they are tested if they’re spreading it anyway.

They'll presumably be given instructions on what they can and can't do, they shouldn't be mixing with other people.

    Yep
Groundsmen? Staff opening the gates etc etc
    Serious question?
Will they have ball boys? Will it be youth players? how many balls will be kicked into the stand to waste time if a team is winning one nil with a few minutes to go ?

All clubs are working with the smallest amount of staff possible to stage a game and they're all being tested.

As I understand it. Any player who has tested positive today should isolate for 14 days & who has been in contact with them should take extra precautions & adhere to strict social distancing rules. Leaving it a few days before testing them without them isolating or social distancing appears futile if they’re spreading it anyway.

“Everyone’s fully fit and available for selection,” McCann said this afternoon.

“Compare that to our last game against Stoke City where we had nine or ten players out through injury, it’s a real positive for us.

“Although we’ve had a few bumps and bruises along the way but nothing major at all, everyone is available for the weekend.

“Some people haven’t trained as much as I would’ve liked to maybe be in contention to start the game but everyone was out on the training ground today and I’ve got good numbers to pick from.”
