I think if we go down, it’ll force their hand. They’ll have to put their own money in just to keep the club running and they won’t like that. If they consider City a millstone now, then it’ll be a proper burden a division below.
If it means getting rid of them, then bring it on. I'd love to see them 'lose' their alleged £50 million (except it isn't that at all). However, I just don't see it happening. They've got a steady stream of incoming cash flow for a few years to come. They'll just keep cutting costs (and quality) irrespective of what division we are in. That's what is so soul destroying, meaning it's hard to see how they will **** off for years yet.
Thing is though, there comes a point where they aren't making anything at all. If the income becomes based on player sales, then that would require talented players people want, and we don't have many of those left. Matchday revenue is a drop in the ocean and we won't get a sniff of TV money in League 1 (even if we get to the Paint Trophy final and go to Wembely. So really, it makes sense for them to invest, if they want to make money, they will have to spend it. Which is why I reject the idea they're just deliberately cocking up out of spite, I just don't think they know what the **** they're doing.
They know exactly what they're doing. They are covering their liabilities. I've said this for many years. They wont lose a single penny whatever happens.
If we go down to League 1, I expect they'll lose a lot if they continue on as owners as the income from elsewhere will be negligible. Even the price of our players will decrease, it is in their best interests to ensure we are at least a Championship club if they wish to make money.
So called experts have been. Confidently telling us all they will have to do this or that For years or they'll lose the lot. It's yet to happen. I hope they do but it won't happen.
If we get relegated, our TV income drops from £7m to £1.4m, it at least prevents them from charging themselves interest, as there simply isn't the income to cover it
..... and paid anyway from cash flow, which comes back to the point about continuing inflows from sales such as Bowen, and sell-ons which last a fair while longer I believe. I fully expect they see players like KLP, Lopes, JDW, RB, JS, as their next jackpots.
They can, but if it's a bit pointless if it's never going to be possible to recover it all. As Gone For A Walk says, they're already banking on historic fees to keep us going, in League One, that money will be eaten very quickly.
I didn't know that. So they are not actually taking the 4% out, but just continually adding it year after year to the debt? Really?
if there's spare cash I woulds expect they would take it. if they are not sure of getting it sometime they may not bother charging the club because they will have to pay tax on it even if they never get the money
So, in other words, you don't know! And what you typed as a stated fact is not? Sounds like OLM confirms it does get paid.
How do you know it's being paid? Just because they are credited in the accounts it doesn't mean money moves. The cash flow statement doesnt indicate what has been paid - it just shows movement on loans
The Allamhouse accounts last year show the repayment of a loan to Assem Allam of £10,100,259.00, the previous year shows a dividend paid to the Allams of £3,800,000.00, they can hardly take it out, if they haven't put it in.
