There are plenty of billionaires who no one has any idea about. Like, tons of them, first of all you need to be on Forbes' radar for them to investigate your net worth. He has sold a company which means he probably has tons of real physical cash, most billionaires have their wealth invested in stocks which first must be offloaded. If he's a private person, has sold a large firm, is currently the CEO of another major firm and has enough money to lodge a £350M bid. It's quite obvious he's a very wealthy man.
Still doesn’t matter. Even if he can afford it which I think he possibly could. Does he have the equity to invest but more importantly the right contacts to grow the revenues. I honestly don’t mind if it is him buying it as I want Ashley gone. Simple as. Would I prefer PIF with their baggage or this chap with a clean slate but less cash and contacts. That’s a difficult question.
The wealth required to do much better than Ashley are 3 billion plus This has really brought it to light that football in terms of a competition ended quite some time ago.. I never thought I'd be more concerned with how much money a potential owner is that the upcoming game at the weekend. I'm personally just wanting it all put to bed one way or the other.
Of course the only chance of us becoming a huge successful club lies with PIF. I'm not arguing this guy is gonna lead us on a path to glory. But its classic Newcastle cynicism to just blow him off out of hand for no good reason.
Or Ashley accepted the offer from the Saudis and then a few weeks later he was approached by Mauriss with a better offer. We know Ashley flew over to Miami for a couple of weeks. Who knows, maybe he was thrashing out this deal behind the scenes.
if this guy bought the club and the PIF bid never happened we'd all be happy more than likely, but it's a bit on a downer based on the potential of what might fall through .. just gotta realise there's more important things whatever happens it's just something to watch
People are questioning "why now," its the same logic to me as when the super market shuts in ten minutes. People see its shutting and panic, start rushing in for **** they dont really need, same with this deal. People see its going off the market, start reconsidering " **** it was a good deal." Suddenly bids come in.
I'm hoping Mauriss is backed by some crazy rich person tbh .. I won't lie my position that anyone will do just as long as Ashley is gone has changed..
My issue with Ashley isnt even the money he puts in. I think we can do a lot better even with the level of investment he puts in. Its the complete lack of structure, strategy and the rest. If we had a director of football, proper sponsors, invested sold players directly back into the squad we'd be fine. But instead its a two man operation and one of the men spends about 10% of his time there.
His net worth isn't publically known, but apparently he bought and sold over $7 billion portfolio trades.
We could do worse, but there's never a season you think wow we might have a go and press for anything even close to even top half... it's having zero hope that kills the feeling around the club.. I remember believing we were something bigger than maybe we are
