It’s incredible that a government who’ve had a disastrous couple of months don’t realise the opportunity Marcus Rashford has given to them to (a) do the right thing and feed poor hungry kids and (b) finally get themselves some positive coverage. Just why are these people in politics if it is not to look after all of the population, but especially the ones who need help most?

The multi millionaire Rashford should stick to kicking a ball, that is what he is qualified to do. The UK has an abundance of qualified elected politicians perfectly capable of deciding government spending policies. No government should take any notice of celebrities, with good intentions or not.

Funny that a young footballer can have reached out to so many people across a wide spectrum of opinion and has shown up how mean spirited the government is. Rashford 3-0 Government and just a view minutes left.

The striker has turned provider here, where we’ve seen Marcus Rashford, quite literally, put it on a plate. Of course, this also raises serious questions of the boss, with Johnson showing all the signs of someone that has completely lost the dressing room. Rookery Mike.

Well this is an odd move from Johnson - closing the overseas aid deptartment and merging it with the Foreign office, apparently to focus on spending it on states near Russia rather than on African countries. I guess that if anyone knows all about being 'acutely vulnerable to Russian meddling' it's him, but why does he want to do this, essentially bite the hand that has been feeding him?

Not good news coming out of China today as the virus has reared its head again. With 1,279 new cases in the UK yesterday it is clear that the country is still a long way from having it under control. The dexamethasone drug that has received a lot of attention today does nothing to stop people getting the infection.
Good news that the government has been shamed into doing a U turn over feeding children through the summer holidays, but a disgrace that Johnson couldn't even mention that issue without lying. The two government ministers sent out first thing today to support the government line must feel a right pair of fools now after the U turn.

It can obviously strike anywhere, no matter how vigilant authorities are.

    Beijing restarts lockdown:

Millions of people in Beijing are living under renewed restrictions, as a spike in virus cases continues.
The city reported another 31 cases on Wednesday, bringing the total to 137 in the past week.

New Zealand reestablishes its policies after two people coming in to the country have Covid

Meanwhile the UK had 1000+ new cases in one day and lockdown continues to be eased....

Which of these countries do you think are safer to live in currently???

The post lady has just arrived with a large envelope containing information about the latest recommendations and two more face masks provided free of charge by the department. Amidst the information is a piece about how the elderly in care homes will be provided with tablets allowing them to have better contact with their friends and relatives. It also says that children going to the schools will be provided with meals free of charge. To my mind this is the way to encourage people to abide by the rules and also shows that we should continue to put the well being of people first.

Over 1,200,000 French people fined for breaking the rules, it seems the French government have so far failed to encourage the public to act responsibly.

Breaking rules is in the French people's DNA, it is what they do. They can't help themselves.
