Funny story, somebody brought this up on a team video conference yesterday, I remarked that I was more surprised that he could read and write than by his good actions. An audible gasp from one or two who presumed that I was suggesting the black man couldn't do this other than the stereotype thick footballer thing. Some people have a long way to go before they can truly say they have no bias.

I'm sure I read somewhere that he sat his GCSE's and did well. His school have said he was an ideal pupil, which doesn't necessarily mean he was an Oxbridge swot, but he had the intelligence and good family behind him to get his qualifications for whatever he went on to do.
