Exactly this. And we can put any reasoning complex or not but it’s that simple. Saudi in some respects have done bad and you could argue are twisting the premier leagues arms a bit. But it’s supply and demand. You could argue it works both ways aswell. The PL needs the revenue and the next couple of years could arguably be a little less let’s say slushy. Hence the reason why SA are seeking an opportunity due to covid. Not only are they doing it for nufc but other businesses aswell. That’s just business. They have the money. The PL need the promised revenue. The PL just have to get it right from a PA perspective. Their has to be a bit of to and fro. PiF get there club. Access to the bids in 2 years and sort out the piracy. Bein get what they want aswell albeit short term. Someone said the Saudis don’t want to be out done. They are clever they can come out of this with everything. If only they give a little now.
This is right. And again. The premier league will show double standards. We all know the Qataris are linked to funded terrorism. It’s the main reason why this piracy **** started. Yet that didn’t stop the premier league taking 550m from them for tv rights. Saudi are well aware of this. When the shoe fits I say.
Who in their right mind employs a goalkeeper who can’t touch the bar. That’s why Everton are not on the list!
Exactly. It's a mountain out of a molehill. The PL were willing to do a deal with the devil. Now his bigger brother has shown up with more money.
And the PL want the money. Buy don’t want the legal challenge by BEIN which they have proven they are making threats already. The very things they are arguing about are the piracy. Saudi can say right we will ban BoutQ and stop their illegal streaming. They could do that. It won’t improve BEIN revenue streams one but because there is no IP law out there that affects the trade restrictions imposed. In fact SA could throw the kitchen sink at the piracy now and still look good. They turn around and say ok we have shut it all down. We did our best. What now? Bein gain their argument but lose financially anyways. Just seems to me bein are throwing their toys out of the prism.
BEin are acting like someone who knows they are defeated. It's a desperate last throw of the dice. Give me what I want or else. I think the PL delay is down to one thing. The PL are trying to stave off potential legal action by BEin and so are making any agreement ironclad. That would explain the BEin posturing. It suggests that BEin know that the takeover is going ahead and they have got on their high horse in protest. The WTO report changes nothing. It regurgitated UEFA's findings from last year but adds more detail.
I'd like to think you are right but got an alert from yesterday's Guardian and it ruined my granola and immune-boosting lemon ginger tea.
they are the 8th most successful team in England.. have money, building new stadium and by default go on that list whether you like them or not
